How does the nursing shortage affect your hospital? How does it affect the ability to care for patients? In March 2023, the International Council of Nurses (ICN) called for the nursing shortage to be treated as a global health emergency. Nurses are burned out by staffing shortages and a lack of supplies and resources. Musculoskeletal injury accounts for 77.2% of injuries among nurses annually. As respiratory season approaches, the need for automated processes becomes apparent. Patients developing severe respiratory complications will be mechanically ventilated and of those, 25% will develop acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and require pronation. Let Turn Medical show your facility how to automate proning with the Pronova-O₂™ Automated Prone Therapy System. The holidays are fast approaching! Which holiday is your favorite? 🎃🦃🎄 With the gathering of family and friends for parties and festivals along with cooler weather also comes the dreaded spread of germs 😮💨🤒🤧 Traditionally, we start to see respiratory illnesses begin to rise at the end of October with peaks in December and January. Is your hospital ready to handle severe respiratory illness? Influenza, COVID-19, and RSV can all lead to respiratory complications such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Prone positioning has been shown to reduce mortality in patients with ARDS. The Pronova-O₂™ is a tool that critical care clinicians can use to place patients in the prone position safely and efficiently. Contact Turn Medical at 855-ASK-TURN to learn more about Pronova-O₂™. ____ #turnmedical #pronova #respiratoryseason #respiratoryillness #pronetherapy #proneposition#prone #ARDS References https://lnkd.in/gVs873Kh Guerin, C. et al. Who makes up your #ICU team? Nurses (#RN), respiratory therapists (#RT), physical therapists (#PT), occupational therapists (#OT)… Proning patients requires a multidisciplinary approach. Which team members do you need to place a patient in the prone position? In this video, Turn’s team is working together with the ICU team to best position a patient at a major burn center. This patient required “airplane splints” for the arms with access to change dressings daily – the Pronova-O₂™ allows for clinicians to easily maneuver and access patients. ____ #prone #pronova #turnmedical #therapysystem #teamwork #multidisciplines

What do you think of when October rolls around: football, leaves turning color, trick-or-treating? At Turn Medical, we think of those things but we also think about viruses - influenza, corona virus and respiratory syncytial virus to name a few. These viruses account for many of the respiratory issues seen this time of year and can ultimately lead to death if not treated. Our latest blog focuses on the flu and how Turn Medical can help you with respiratory season. https://lnkd.in/g2kQTSJr #respiratoryseason #influenza #flu #pronetherapy #pronova-O2 #TurnMedical

October is Physical Therapy Awareness Month! 🌟 Did you know that physical therapy (PT) is vital for preventing muscle atrophy and keeping patients mobilized even in the intensive care unit? The Pronova-O₂™ allows easy access to limbs and supports PT treatments to allow patients to have early mobilization which can improve functional outcomes. During the development of Pronova-O₂™, we actively involved physical therapists in the design process! Let’s take a moment to celebrate the incredible work PT does to enhance recovery and improve overall quality of life! ____ #PTAwarenessMonth #PhysicalTherapy #InjuryPrevention #TurnMedical References Reid, J.C., et al.
