VISI & DISI are types of Carpal Instability Dissociative (CID). . When the bones within the proximal row disassociate from each other we call it a CID. . We name it based on the direction of the Lunate's travel. . Lose the S-L Ligament and the lunate travels dorsally with the triquetrum - DISI. Lose the L-T Ligament and the lunate travels volarly with the scaphoid - VISI. . It's all about the direction of the Lunate's movement. .
