"If I had the time to run a full Search Process, I'd follow a similar process to yours." This observation was made in a recent conversation with an Internal Talent Acquisition Manager who was juggling multiple hiring campaigns of varying degrees of difficulty. As was the case here, TIME is a limiting factor for internal talent acquisition teams. If an internal talent acquisition team is struggling to identify and engage the right person (in the context of running multiple hiring campaigns), you can imagine how the role gradually makes its way to the 'too difficult' pile. The same applies to multi-agency and contingent recruitment. Unfortunately, many times, these hires are business-critical and strategic. This is a problem and a cost. This is one of the main reasons why businesses and investors engage Triage. We allocate resources and time to addressing the most critical, urgent and challenging hires within our Client's businesses. In the case of a recent pan-African C-suite search, we calculated that the total active time invested into running our process was over 12 working days (96 hours). Our Strategic Hiring Partner business unit started with a simple premise – to remove ALL the obstacles preventing our clients from sustained, successful hiring. Instead of one-off roles, we would support hiring across the whole company, focusing on continuous improvement. We didn't know where this would take us, but several things happened: 1 - Once we switched to supporting this ‘big hiring picture’ for clients, we saw these obstacles everywhere. 2 - These obstacles are often hidden, until you have a dedicated Account Manager looking at the company as a whole. 3 - To remove these obstacles, we had to rewrite our playbook to meet each new challenge.
