While we welcomed investors investing in high tech products like this one and making Malaysia as a preferred destination for advanced technology companies under Industrial Master Plan 2030 we need to understand how it will jive with the new STI 2030 policy that put emphasis on the development of domestic or locally developed technologies. As we know we are rather users of technology rather developing our own as once lamented by TMM. Our high tech products and exports are not actually our own though we are one of the biggest global producers and exporters of such products. Perhaps MITI and MOSTI should sit down together and be clear of our aspiration to be an advanced and a high tech nation by 2030.
