Stop job authority should be celebrated and rewarded, not penalized. It’s true that every on-site team member has the right to stop a job if the conditions are unsafe. But it’s also implied at too many companies that if they do, they may get fired. What kind of message does this send about the value of safety? To build a culture of safety you have to: → Promote open communication: Create an environment where team members can report unsafe conditions without fear.   → Train your team: Everyone should know how to spot dangers and act accordingly. → Reward safe behavior: Recognize and compensate those who put safety first.
