A lot of developers are on the street right now. Recruiters and HR types seem to be doing fine though. It is beyond frustrating that they are gatekeepers in our industry, but they don't understand it. More and more they hide behind ATS systems that add even more friction to the application process while doing nothing to improve it. Today I submitted an application to a very senior level tech role only to be met with a set of automated "qualifying" questions. I was presented with a list of "skills" and asked to rank my expertise in them. Among the skills were: Senior Staff Go Golang Amazon Web Services AWS Programming Services Micro Services SaaS These are not skills. Some are redundant terms for the same thing. All of them telegraph that the people in charge of recruiting for $300k roles are completely clueless. Or perhaps it the "AI" in their ATS systems. I can't tell but what I can see is a complete lack of respect for their potential employees. We deserve better than this.

Technical Recruiter | Head Hunter | Servicing Emerging Start-ups, Small & Mid-Size Companies | Focused in IT | Software Development | Technical and Executive Leadership + More
Why your AWS DevOps resume might be invisible to recruiters Picture this: Your perfectly crafted resume, filled with AWS expertise, vanishing into the digital void. Frustrating, isn't it? You're not alone. In a world where algorithms often decide your fate, your AWS DevOps skills might be hiding in plain sight. Here's the shocker: According to a 2023 JobScan study, 75% of resumes are rejected by Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) before a human ever sees them. Let that sink in for a moment. Your years of hard-earned AWS DevOps experience could be lost to a software glitch. So, what's going wrong? ▶️ 60% of resumes use incompatible formats ▶️ 45% lack crucial keywords specific to AWS DevOps roles ▶️ 38% fail to quantify achievements in cloud environments The message is clear: In the AWS DevOps job hunt, your resume needs to speak both human and machine. How can you make your resume ATS-friendly and recruiter-catching? 🔹 Use a clean, simple format (no fancy graphics) 🔹 Include specific AWS services and tools in your skills section 🔹 Quantify your achievements (e.g., "Reduced deployment time by 40% using AWS CodePipeline") 🔹 Mirror the language used in the job description Remember: Your resume is not just a document—it's your ticket to your next AWS DevOps opportunity. How do you optimize your resume for both ATS and human readers? Share your tips! Let's help each other stand out in the competitive world of AWS DevOps. #AWSDevOps #ResumeOptimization #JobSearch #TechCareers #CloudComputing

Managing Global Lateral hiring in End to End Global R&D Lab Positions: Complete Analog Solution: Mixed Signal Verification, Analog Design, Analog-Mixed Signal Layout, Top Level & ASIC DFT, ASIC DV & Physical Design.
Approx every recruiter in IT Industry faces challenges in bulk hiring in advanced technologies like Cloud.... And it's not about resource pipelines scarcity in Cloud applications. When i was working in one of the IT Organisation UST where one of the technical manager shared his experience in Cloud application that they screened approx 1100 resumes previously in one of the Cloud position out of which they finally selected 1 profile for offer. Apologies to say but as a recruiter it's not at all good screening performance..... Recruiter must understand first, the difference between Developer, Devops and Support Engineers & their responsibilities, functions, programming involved in various Cloud applications. Recruiter must understand at least basic screening of Cloud Technologies, programming language involved not only at scripting level but also at library development level.. Approx every day Hybrid Applications are emerging and lots of updates are happening in Cloud applications in Technologies Market, if as a recruiter if we will not be able to understands basic of cloud applications, then it will be go ahead more deeper involvement of Cloud applications.... Just CTRL+ F is no more going to help. Day by Day Cloud is also emerging with Advanced AI, if any Recruiter is unable to understand the basics how he/ she will hire, highest quality resources from scratch level.... Recruiter must think this perspective.

Your tech person has suddenly resigned from your project. They are no longer here. Is this a guarantee for your business loss? No, it's not - as long as you can promptly engage a suitable professional from outside. However, it's easier said than done. Initially, there's always the possibility that you just couldn't find such individuals in the market, either due to their scarcity or because they're already committed to other projects. Or they might command rates that are too high for your budget. For instance, try finding a Hadoop and Haskell professional in the UK. Ideally both in the same person, why not? Anyone who's tried it knows... No wonder, an SMB or startup struggles to find such tech people in the short term. So, what's the solution? A vendor with the ability to effortlessly provide global tech talent for your team, with options for both full-time and part-time engagements customized to meet your specific demands. This way, your business can quite quickly resume. Below is a timeline of how it happens with our clients (I like being specific): Week 1. Defining the requirements for the candidates. Start of the search process. Week 2-3. Checking the candidates and providing a client with the vetted CVs. Week 2-4. Interviewing the short-listed candidates. Week 3-5. Assessing tech skills. Offers are made. Week 5-8. Signing contracts. A client's team #onboarding. Rest assured, the sudden departure of tech talent can be resolved without any adverse impact on your business. It's entirely manageable. #SMB #Startup #Hiring

Linkedin job application pro tip: When recruiters post a job on Linkedin, the default version is for the applicants to be ranked on "screening requirements". Screening requirements are two fold: The answers to the job posters questions, and matching the top skills. The top skills don't necessarily pull from your resume that you apply with, it pulls from your skills listed on your Linkedin profile page. Here's an example of 10 top skills in a recent post: Java, Spring, AWS, DynamoDB, Snowflake, Agile Scrum, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Gitlab & Microservices So you may have experience with all of these - but if you only have 5/10 listed as "skills" in your Linkedin profile, thats what it will display to the recruiter. When there are 100+ applicants for a remote job... it makes a difference to be on the first page of review versus say the 7th! Hope this helps someone out there. Ask me anything

This guide was originally written while working at Amazon Web Services (AWS) (Amazon) which has helped many prepare for roles at various companies. Although geared towards Network Development Engineers, the guide is helpful for most roles. Our team member is unable to respond to all direct messages, but welcomes resumes. Check out the guide in the link below and prepare yourself for a successful interview with us at #OCI. #hiring #jobs #networking #automation https://lnkd.in/eSP8SQs

Why You Might Need to Contact Your System Administrator🔧 In our day-to-day work, there are moments when the system just says, "Contact your system administrator." But why? Here are a few common scenarios that might trigger this: 1. Access Denied: You might be trying to open a file or application but lack the necessary permissions. This is a common issue in environments with strict security controls. 2. Software Installation or Updates: Sometimes, installing new software or updates requires administrative privileges, which are beyond the reach of standard users. 3. Security or Compliance Issues: Encountering a security warning or policy violation that only an admin can resolve. It's all about keeping the system secure. 4. Network Configuration Problems: Struggling to connect to the network or dealing with connectivity issues? These often require an admin to do a deeper dive. 5. Hardware Issues: From failed hard drives to memory issues, some hardware problems just can't be solved without the expertise of a system administrator. These prompts aren't just annoyances—they're safeguards, ensuring that our systems run smoothly and securely. Next time you see that message, know that it’s a sign that something critical needs attention!
