🚨 Exciting News! 🚨 We’ve teamed up with members of the Australian Naturopathic Council (ANC) to submit proposals for the Federal Government’s ‘Scope of Practice Review’.🌿 Right now, naturopaths aren’t eligible for certain healthcare roles within the National Skills and Capability Framework and Matrix. But we're pushing for a change! Our submission highlights the skills and recognition of degree-qualified naturopaths as Allied Health Professionals, emphasising their potential in health prevention, promotion, and chronic disease management. We’re advocating for qualified naturopaths to be considered for roles in integrative and primary practice, community health care centres, drug and alcohol facilities, the NDIS, hospitals, and more. 🏥🤝 As our profession strides towards registration, we’re eager to demonstrate that naturopaths meet the framework's expectations, paving the way for critical roles in healthcare. The Feds play a vital role in setting the standard of Health Care in Canada through the Health Care Act. Defining the standard of primary care services for every Canadian is crucial. Should access be defined solely by having a primary care provider or by having access to a basket of defined primary care services? Given the complexity of care we face, a team of providers is needed as no one healthcare professional can do it all.
