Here’s how I do brand strategy for clients. (Or else they don’t attract the right clients.) Before writing their messaging, offer, or “I help” statement, I ask: -> Who do they want to serve? -> What keeps those clients awake at night? -> At what stage are those clients in their journey? -> How can my client’s service help those clients? Different people have different needs based on their stages of the journey. For example, if you were to target: A beginner: Your “I help” statement would look like: “I’ll help you get your first client in 30 days without cold outreach.” An intermediate: “I’ll help you add $5k per month to your revenue without working more hours.” An expert: “I’ll help you add an extra $15k to your revenue without cold DMs and sales calls.” Takeaway: If you want to be heard, do not shout with a megaphone to a crowd. Call out a person’s name and he will respond right away.
