Interesting idea. Over the years, I have had some bad dentists and some good ones but not sure I am ready for an AI-controlled one. A Boston company, Perceptive, has developed an AI-controlled robotic dentist that can perform procedures up to eight times faster than a human dentist. This robot uses a hand-held 3D volumetric scanner with optical coherence tomography (OCT) to create detailed models of the mouth, avoiding X-ray radiation. The robot successfully completed its first procedure, preparing a tooth for a crown in about 15 minutes.
