The Chromessence fragrance team is thrilled to present the seventh episode of our series: What's Inside 7! 🌟   Now that summer is here and temperatures are rising, what better way to cool off than to talk to you about a perfume with frosty undertones? Our pick for today is the lemon sorbet accord from Moschino's Toy2 Pearl perfume! 🍋❄️ This accord is a true masterpiece, skillfully combining an airy fougère perfume top note with a touch of freshness that makes it a unisex scent, or even leaning more towards femininity. A brilliant achievement crafted by the talented Domitille Michalon Bertier.   But what does this lemon sorbet accord entail? Firstly, the main note, lemon, is brought forth by an essential oil of Italian lemon, complemented by a hint of Mexican lime, cold-pressed. Adding one part lime to seven parts lemon gives us the terpene and slightly sweet nuance we're aiming for. To soften the blend and give it the texture of sorbet, we incorporate Melonal, a slightly aqueous and fruity note with hints of water fruit, using half as much Melonal as lime. 🍈 Next, to add roundness, depth, and a sunny touch to this sorbet accord, we introduce Cis-3-Hexenyl Salicylate. Finally, the finishing touch comes from a generous amount of Helional, which imparts an aquatic and icy note with hints of melon, creating the illusion of a real sorbet. 🌊 🍨🍋 And how would you prefer to enjoy it? As today is Valentine’s Day we thought we would take a look at the addictive gourmand fragrance trend that we just can’t get enough of! Online searches in the US for gourmand fragrances were up 46% last year and are expect the grow by 20% this year, according to Spate.    Comfortingly familiar, vanilla has to be one of the biggest trends in fragrance right now. Love it or hate it, vanilla has been given a grown-up makeover for a more sophisticated appeal. Think Parfum De Marly’s Althair Eau de Parfum with its vanilla bourbon note contrasted with luminous orange blossom, spices and musk.   If you prefer some zing to cut through the sweetness we’ve also seen the trend for citrus gourmand scents with everything from meringue notes in Divine from Jean Paul Gaultier to a lemon cupcake accord in Akro’s Bake scent.    Bringing a warm richness to gourmand creations we are also seeing the intriguing combination of tobacco with sweet notes of honey and vanilla for a sophisticated appeal.
