I’m on LinkedIn a lot, and I’ve noticed a tragic lack of discussion around Twitch Hype Trains and Emotes around here. Let me change that. Just a few weeks ago, Twitch released new Hype Train emotes reserved for the highest levels of hype going up to level 100 where participants could unlock the ultra-rare KappaInfinite, a trippy take on Twitch’s favorite floating head, Kappa. Along the way, users could unlock more remixes of classic Emotes like BleedPurpleHD, PogChomp, and HeyHeyGuys. Having created InfiniteKappa for level 100, I remember being pumped that we got to add an ultra-rare emote to the pantheon of Hype Train emotes, but also bummed that the feat of reaching level 100 seemed virtually unattainable. A week later /PirateSoftware did just that. And more. https://lnkd.in/eJ-9B5vj We were blown away. It literally broke Twitch. The bits and subs were coming in so hot, that the system couldn’t update his stream fast enough. This resulted in his community continuing to donate even after reaching their goal of achieving level 100, setting the new world record at 106. Showing the speed and accuracy of the Twitch Brand Creative, we immediately responded by figuring out the only way to commemorate PirateSoftware’s feat. Immortalizing him as the emote one would unlock by reaching level 106, the new benchmark he set. A day after breaking the record, we added the rarest Emote, DidIBreakIt. This story was a very eventful first act in a larger story I will be sharing soon. But I wanted to share this moment as one that stands out, showing how our internal creative team worked seamlessly with cross-functional teams to build and maintain the hypest levels of hype with speed and accuracy of voice for the brand. #Twitch #BrandCreative #Emotes #Community #CreativeDirector

TwitchCon San Diego is a wrap with over 30,000 attendees. During the opening keynote, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy announced several updates to the platform: 🚀 Mobile App Evolution: As over 70% of new viewers access Twitch via mobile, Dan announced that improvements are coming. The app’s new updates will make it easier to find channels, enhance video play, and improve navigation. Thumbnails, better VOD access, and the ability to follow categories are also coming to the Following tab in October. 🎥 Clips Made Easier: A new Clip Carousel will let streamers share moments from their streams on social media. Mobile users can now create portrait clips, making it easier to capture those highlights. 💬 Shared Chat: (My personal fav) Collaborating creators can now merge their chats with up to 6 streamers, bringing their communities closer together. This feature will roll out next week, enhancing collaborations and fostering connections between streamers’ audiences. ⚖️ Improved Enforcement System: Twitch is giving more clarity on Chat violations, allowing creators to see the exact infraction and appeal if necessary. Strikes will also start expiring over time for low-severity violations, helping streamers avoid permanent penalties for minor infractions. 🌍 Globalizing Guilds: The Twitch Guild program, designed to foster growth and support among creators, will expand globally in 2025. 2 months looks back from v0rtex-01 scroll hackathons This is a hackathon where people will build products on the scroll network and it have many categories such as Defi, infra, social,... with many sponsors like Chainlink, Covalent, The Graph,... ( I think this is like advertising that their products already work on scroll ) #Idea 🚀 I selected track social with the idea of creating a reputable investment sharing platform. Usually there will be KOLs sharing about potential tokens but I wonder if they actually buy the tokens, and when they sell them. This is completely non-public information to those who follow those KOLs. So I created Factbook 📖. With the help of chainlink feeds where I can check the price of the token KOLs shared at the time of posting and compare it to when viewers saw it. When livestreaming first appeared on the Internet, it was hailed as a revolutionary way to connect people. The idea was simple: anyone, anywhere, could share their experiences with the world, allowing others to witness events they might never have had the chance to see in person. It aimed to bridge distances, bring far-off places and happenings into the palms of our hands. For those unable to attend a concert, watch a game or join a protest, livestreaming offered a chance to be part of the moment, no matter where they were. At first, this vision seemed revolutionary as the possibilities were endless and the world appeared more connected than ever before. But as livestreaming grew more popular, a darker side began to emerge. The same tool that could livestream joy and excitement could also deliver something far more sinister as it showed its power to harm. While livestreaming gave a platform to celebrations, it also gave a raw and unfiltered platform to showcase violence, hate and chaos.
