Every day in the life of a founder and CEO is like a new mixtape – you don’t know what track is next, but there’s a bit of a pattern that keeps things interesting. 🎶 Right now, my mornings kick off with some brainstorming to set the tone, followed by a quick email sweep (or three) while laying out the day’s plans for the team. Slack is my go-to for firing off updates and responding to messages, and then I’m onto the day’s lineup. Lately, that means interviewing for our upcoming spring internship – back-to-back calls with some truly talented folks who bring fresh energy and ideas to A Jam. In between, I’m also managing duties for the Recording Academy’s R&B and Rap Membership Committee, strategizing on membership outreach, prepping for our next committee meeting, and getting ready for any questions I may have as we gear up for Grammy Awards nominations. Afterward, there’s a bit of calendar magic as I work to balance Grammy board meeting dates with our company’s upcoming events. Once that’s handled, I start putting together our end-of-fall internship event plans – from the look and vibe down to the invitations. By late afternoon, it’s all about Methix HQ the tech product we’re building to level the playing field for artists. I’m diving into feature reviews, working through our pricing model, and figuring out how to make the experience even better for independent artists around the world. The day wraps up with final interview follow-ups, a few check-ins with artists and producers, and maybe one last email sweep.
