Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, with the new triennial theme: 'Changing The Narrative on Suicide'. This theme focuses on raising awareness about the importance of reducing stigma and encouraging open conversations to prevent suicides. Changing the narrative on suicide means reshaping how we approach this complex issue and shifting from a culture of silence and stigma to one of openness, understanding, and support. Whether it’s a colleague, a friend or a loved one, let's all take a moment today to reach out and listen. #startheconversation Here are some ways we can help: - Listen without judgement - sometimes the greatest help we can offer is to simply listen. - Be kind to yourself and others - small acts of kindness are impactful. - Share resources - encourage others to seek professional support when needed. If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. Please reach out. Charities such as Samaritans offer 24/7 helplines, find out more information below: https://lnkd.in/dqaUFSXB #SuicidePreventionDay #MentalHealth #SRCInfrastructure

May is mental health awareness month people. This year my family will ride 50KM together and pay tribute to the way too many people in our lives we’ve lost to suicide. Consider joining my team and riding, or donate. Your donation is vital so Jack.org can continue its critical work of helping youth understand their mental health and seek help without shame. Team Westcoast: To Join: https://lnkd.in/eGS2G-QV To Donate: https://lnkd.in/e3isbVG5 Here’s what else you can do: 1. Complete the (free) Be There Certificate and learn how to be there for others. Destigmatizing mental health is a matter of life and death. https://lnkd.in/ek5idjMN 2. Spread the word about Be There, friends, family, co-workers, shout it from the rooftops. 3. Stop thinking it couldn’t happen to anyone in your circle…it can. Learn to get comfortable discussing matters of mental health. Take care of yourself. Wishing you all good mental health. #MayMentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalHealth #Suicide

Today is World Mental Health Day, which aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and to mobilise support of mental health. This October, our Principal Timothy Zieth is running 60km for mental health for the Black Dog Institute One Foot Forward campaign. To donate and to learn more about the campaign, follow this link: https://lnkd.in/ge3f_-va All donations made today will be matched, so it's a great chance to double your impact. Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience symptoms of mental illness each year? In fact, every day in Australia, 9 people will die by suicide. Mental illness can be debilitating and can have a devastating impact on not only those living with it, but those around them. Tim is running to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute so that they can put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most. Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians. #worldmentalhealthday #onefootforward #blackdoginstitute

🌟 Taking a Stand Against Suicide: Join Me in the CALM Campaign!🌟 In June, I'll be participating in the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a vital initiative dedicated to preventing suicide and improving mental health in the UK. Here's why this cause matters to me! 🌼 The Reality: Every 90 minutes, someone in the UK takes their own life. That's a staggering statistic, and it's time to change it. 🏃♂️ 90 Miles for 90 Lives: Along with thousands of others, I'll be walking, running, and maybe even hopping 90 miles throughout June. Whether it's a friend, family member, or even our own struggles, we've all been affected. Additionally, 1 in 4 people experience negative thoughts at some point in their lives. It's time to show our support and make a difference. 👟 Get Involved: You can join me by lacing up your own walking boots! Register your fundraiser at https://lnkd.in/e22r65Ra be part of this incredible movement. 💙 Donate: If you're unable to participate, consider making a donation. Every penny counts!
