This is wild! Jane Street Quant Internship is paying a $250,000 base salary with no experience needed 😳 In case you missed it, Jane Street is one of Wall Street's biggest and most profitable trading businesses. In Q1 2024 alone, the finance giant generated a whopping $4.4 billion in profit. At ~70% profit margins 🤯 That’s way bigger than both Visa & Mastercard, some of the most profitable companies on the planet. To put these numbers into perspective: - That's $1.7M in profit per Jane Street employee - Or more than $9M per active trader. Math is indeed power. How many Quants do you know? 🎓 Remember when you were at that important stage in life where you had to decide which course to take in college? Often, that decision feels like a turning point. It’s a moment when we ask ourselves what truly inspires us, what our goals are, and how we want to shape our future. For some, the choice is clear. For others, it’s a journey of discovery and doubt. But nowadays, more than just the hard skills you can learn—whether in college or through hands-on experience—the most valuable thing is soft skills. It used to be common to face that famous situation: you didn’t have enough experience to apply for a job that required years in a specific field, and at the same time, you couldn’t land your first job because you lacked that experience. Now, things are changing. Smart companies are looking for people ready to learn. Professions that emerged in the last 10 years didn’t even exist 20 or 30 years ago. We’ve reached a point where expectations about experience must keep pace with the speed at which new specializations are being created. So, what’s more interesting? Spending 4, 5, or even 10 years in college to learn from professors and courses created decades ago? Or being prepared to be a lifelong learner who can adapt and be ready to fill the new positions that are emerging? If you could go back in time, what would you tell your younger self about this decision? Was it the right path or did it lead you to a different, but equally interesting destination? #Career #Education #Decisions #Future #College #Experience #LifelongLearning #SoftSkills
