Director of Pharmacy, Community-Based Pharmacy Practice Residency Preceptor at USC School of Pharmacy
This matter is not about #pharmacy practice alone. This is something that has been going on for years in #healthcare industry and many of us have been fighting for our patients’ access to care. Everyone has been affected by this in one way or another without even realizing it. I have been in practice for over 20 years, and I have seen firsthand the negative impact of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) on PATIENTS. SB966 has been a 2-year bill in California to regulate PBMs and to stop their unfair practices that directly affect people. It is imperative that everyone - you, your friends, your colleagues, your family and most importantly your #patients write to Governer Gavin Newsom asking him to sign the bill into law. Please share this post and please talk to your patients and their caregivers and families if you're a healthcare professional - this is personal for them. We see this every day - PBMs profit exorbitantly while driving up Americans' prescription drug costs, while reducing Americans' access to medications and pharmacies, and while forcing pharmacies to close. Every day care is being delayed or denied because PBMs are not regulated.
As pharmacies continue to close across California due to the unchecked practices of PBMs, immediate reform is critical. SB 966 is a vital bill that will ensure fair practices and protect pharmacy access for all Californians. Watch CPhA CEO Susan Bonilla explain why this legislation matters, and join us in urging Governor Gavin Newsom to sign SB 966. The future of pharmacy access depends on it. #PBMReform #SupportPharmacy #SB966 #PharmacyAccess #SignSB966 #ActNow
