Check out this month’s employee spotlight:
For the month of October, DRIRITE Of Hillsborough County proudly features Scott Wilcox in HighGround’s Monthly Employee Spotlight. Scott serves as the Marketing Director and has been with Dririte for seven years. Starting as a technician, he worked his way up to his current role by keeping a sharp focus on the big picture and achieving business objectives. Scott thrives in the fast-paced environment, enjoying the collaboration with Dririte's partners and providing value to them in every interaction. A sixth-generation Floridian, Scott has been married to his wife Katie for 22 years. They met at church and now have two children: Ethan, who serves in the Texas National Guard and studies at Texas State University, and Molly, a high school junior passionate about musical theater. In his free time, Scott enjoys drawing on his creative past as a former cake decorator—a talent that comes in handy when working with drywall mud! HighGround and Dririte are grateful for Scott’s dedication and leadership, and we're proud to have him on the team. #employeerecognition #restoration #waterdamage

Work Etiquette and Soft Skills, an easy concept! These days, it is not so easy to implement! I have a four-year-old and a five-year-old, and what I am constantly having to teach them is polite manners. I must say though, they are getting pretty good at it. They are almost 100% with their please and thank you. They know how to keep their hands to themselves. They know how to share. Why is that important? Because work etiquette actually comes from the fundamentals of good behavior. It’s about… -Asking, not demanding. -Respecting boundaries. -Being considerate of other people’s needs/ideas/quirks. Soft skills are learned too! It’s not just verbal and listening skills, it’s collaboration skills, problem-solving skills, and self-regulating skills too. “Self-who-now?!” Self-regulating skills! You know, staying composed when you want to impulsively reach over the conference table to ________ your co-worker. Join me, and let’s discuss this further! We will teach you how to make those around you better! Bring the co-worker or boss who needs to hear this (wink-wink).

Countertop surfaces have come a long way since the days of Formica, the plastic building material that was once all the rage. With all the options out there now, it can be tough to know what material is going to be best for your style and your lifestyle. #countertops #counterspace #countertopmaterials

The poster might feature a large, vibrant image of a chicken in the center, showcasing its detailed feathers, sharp beak, and strong, expressive eyes. The background could be a blend of earthy tones like green, brown, and beige, representing nature or a farm setting. Depending on the style, the chicken could be illustrated in a realistic, cartoonish, or abstract manner. #Uniquechickenposterdesign#creativechickenposterdesign#beautifulchickenposterdesign#famrfreshchickenposterdesign#cluskcluskchickenposterdesign

We're 1 week away from celebrating National Surface Finishing Day and the Products Finishing team is excited to hear about your plans to recognize the efforts of your employees, promote your companies contributions to surface finishing or just take a moment to reflect. Having a special luncheon to tell your employees you appreciate their efforts and contributions to our industry? Maybe something as simple as bringing in donuts for the team, just a small token of your appreciation. How about a full-blown, open house, where you invite your community to learn more about your company and its impact on manufacturing? There's many ways to celebrate, and celebrate you must. Talk about social media fodder, NSFD is the perfect content to spread the word about us, the industrial surface finishing community. Don't be shy, shout, write, and post about the importance of what we do because guess what? It's your day to do so. https://lnkd.in/g-cTjh6h #NationalSurfaceFinishingDay #NSFD #powdercoating #electroplating #liquidcoating #surfacefinishing

This Day in #IDiyasPatentHistory! 12th of February 1884 in #patent History, Lewis Edson Waterman patented the ideal fountain pen. He sold them behind a cigar shop and gave a 5-year guarantee on them. In 1885, he partnered with Asa Shipman and founded The Ideal Pen Company, but that didn’t last. He again tried alone but later needed to raise capital and founded in 1887 Waterman Pen Company. In 1899, he modified the nib of the pen. The problem was when a pen is nearly empty, a bubble would form. He solved this problem by making overflow pockets on either side of the channels in the feed. Waterman didn’t just work on fountain pens. He, for instance, also invented a successful method for preserving and condensing grape juice. When he sold his fountain pens, he had a no questions returns policy because he was so sure of his product. And he had reasons to be. Orders came in from all over the country and from abroad. Business went so well that they produced seven out of ten pens on the market at the end of the 19th century and had to move production as the business grew. #innovation #explore #knowledge #history #science #inventor #patent #facts #scientist #inventions #fountain #fountainpen #waterman https://lnkd.in/dEXZU5UE
