Core memory made today. (read to the end for why!) Today we gamified our goodmakerU Cohort time with a game we invented called "Fundraising Fever". For 45 minutes, all the nonprofit leaders in the room got busy getting STUFF DONE for their year-end fundraising campaign. Honestly, I was a little surprised at how engaged and focused everyone became, immediately! It was so fun to see: - People's competitive sides come out - Fundraisers using their time on high-ROI activity - making calls, sending texts and personal emails - Leaders stretching their comfort zones with specific asks - goodmakers inviting others into a bigger story AND THEN... one of the Executive Directors walked back from making a phone call with a stunned look on her face. She had just gotten a commitment for $100,000 gift!! Her total goal for her year-end campaign: $20,000. This transformational gift — this moment that unfolded before our eyes — literally changes the trajectory and future of this local nonprofit. This is why we do what we do at goodmakerU. P.S. 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁? 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀. Tracking incremental improvements can feel frustrating. The gains are often so subtle it’s hard to see progress in the moment. But while these daily gains might feel small, they build 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 over time, creating meaningful change for your organization.
