I don’t often post on LinkedIn and even rarer are my posts about my personal life. But it’s officially October, which means I’ve hit the one month countdown: My last month of training before the NYC Marathon on November 3. Since training began in July, my life has been consumed by my children, work, and race training (in that order). This is my first ever marathon and, when I got word that I was one of the 4% of people who was selected through the race lottery, I knew I needed to take this seriously and put in the work. My goal all along has been to GET TO THE START LINE aka put in enough training to be capable of “running” 26.2 miles. My second goal is to make it to the finish line - TBD on that. Why am I sharing all of this here? Well, because I also decided if I’m going to put my body, mind, and time into this, it needs to be about more than just me. I’m running & fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, as part of St. Jude Heroes. I’m also not above tapping into every network I have available to help reach my fundraising goal.
