A: ANY OF THEM! PCIE is backwards compatible, it will just run at the speed of the lowest gen.

I was going to say any of them, and then I saw your answer and learned I was right. One of these days I'll sit still long enough to take those certification exams! And thoughts: Backwards compatibility is a great consideration for new hardware/software creators. When updating or upgrading a device, it is less frustrating for the end user to not have to update multiple things at once.
