Establish Clear Policies on Employee Performance: Define your company's stance on sending employees home due to inability to perform their duties. Communicate how this may impact their pay. 4. Social Media Reminders: Reinforce social media policies to maintain professionalism online. Encourage employees to be mindful of public posts during the festive season. 5. Embrace the Carnival Spirit: If possible, close the office early, organize your own parade, or create a festive atmosphere by playing Mardi Gras tunes. STORY Studio were invited to produce this case study film for our client Goodman. They wanted us to tell the story of Albion Fine Foods Ltd - a family run business based in Kent, supplying produce to high-end restaurants in London and the South East. The key to this project was good planning. A word that has been part of my working life for 20+ years. I have led on the organisation for coverage of general elections, Papal visits, Commonwealth Games and special programmes. When you are filming and gathering content for anything - planning and good logistics is key. It provides a solid foundation to let creativity flourish. This project was in Kent, at a distribution facility spanning over 130,000 sq ft, with multiple interviewees - and we (Ian Snape and I) had one day to film it all. So what did we do to make it happen? Working closely with Emma Pickering we: 📽 Established who we were speaking to and what they could contribute using previously written case study copy 📽 Created a detailed storyboard for the client - to ensure we were on the same page before anything was filmed 📽 Created detailed briefing notes to compliment that storyboard - everyone taking part knew what was expected of them 📽 A recce - not always possible, but in this case I was able to check out the warehouse a month before filming day 📽 A filming schedule - what we needed and when, allowing Albion Fine Foods Ltd to prepare for our visit  Our filming day, whilst incredibly busy, went very smoothly. We were able to capture all the content needed to tell the story visually, but still had time to carry out the interviews and make sure we had the soundbites to reflect this brilliant business. I am a journalist, so for me it isn’t about reading pre-agreed questions. It is about listening and picking up on what the interviewees are saying. Asking questions in different ways, mapping out the structure in my head as I go. To do this you need time on the day and detailed research and prep in the run up to filming day. Albion Fine Foods Ltd is a family business, they love what they do, are passionate about the people they employ and were genuinely excited to call Goodman’s Crossways Park their new home.  A big thank you to Toby Raphael, Harry J., Lee Deeble and the team for making our day run so smoothly - and so enjoyable. At Woodys, where we produce and sell ethical craft meat products, the challenges and rewards are distinctly different. Office-Based Jobs: - Meetings & Stress: I've heard many office workers express frustration over endless meetings and the associated stress. While these roles often involve strategic planning and collaborative problem-solving, the pace can sometimes feel slow and the stress, unrelenting. - Comfort & Amenities: Office jobs typically offer the comfort of chairs, climate-controlled environments, and a range of amenities that support productivity and well-being. Small Food Production: - Hands-On Work: In our small food production setting, there's no time for lengthy meetings. Our focus is on getting perishable products processed and out the door within a week. The pace is fast, and every minute counts. - Physical Demands: There's no sitting around. We're on our feet all day, working tirelessly to ensure that every product meets our high standards of quality. The physical nature of the job can be demanding, but it’s incredibly rewarding to see the tangible results of our efforts. - Immediate Impact: The immediacy of our work means that we directly see the impact of what we do. Our products reach customers quickly, providing them with fresh, high-quality food that we take great pride in producing. Both types of roles have their own set of challenges and rewards. For those in office settings, your work is essential in strategizing and planning for the future. For us in small food production, every day is about precision, speed, and ensuring the best possible product reaches our customers. It's a privilege to be part of a team that is so dedicated and hardworking.
