People only have until 30th June to apply to become the next generation of Trainee Firefighters 👩🚒👨🚒 So if you think that you've got what it takes to help serve the community of Tyne and Wear, and to keep them safe from harm then now is your chance to apply. It was a very proud moment for the Service earlier this month when the latest group of 20 new recruits passed out from course 58/24. Five of those firefighters excelled during the course and were rewarded with a special recognition 👏 They included: (Firefighter / trophy awarded) 🚒 Firefighter Kerr (The John Hall memorial trophy for demonstrating the highest levels of physical fitness throughout the course) 🚒 Firefighter Hall (The George Maddox trophy for the recruit who has scored the highest marks both practically and theoretically during the Breathing Apparatus phase of the course) 🚒 Firefighter Campbell (The Dusty Ashman trophy for the ‘Recruits Recruit’, who in the opinion of all other members of the Recruit Course has contributed the most) 🚒 Firefighter Sanders (The Dave Simpson trophy for the highest theoretical marks throughout the course) 🚒 Firefighter Noble (The Silver axe is presented to the top recruit on the course, who consistently showed outstanding knowledge and skills in all practical and theoretical subjects) If you would like to emulate the achievements of our latest recruits then don’t hesitate and apply today. What does cross-training mean to you? If you think it’s only hours spent working out in the gym, think again. Although physical strength and endurance are definitely required, Ocean City, Md., has formed a new part-time firefighter recruitment program wherein applicants train as EMTs while putting in work hours. The hope is that this pilot program will get recruits in with the promise of a paying job while they train. https://lnkd.in/gyYuaRwH

Third Officer in the Merchant Navy | Skilled in Navigation, Safety Management, and Deck Operations | Committed to Maritime Excellence.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST 💸(MONETARILY) TAKE TO OBTAIN YOUR SECOND MATE'S CERTIFICATION? Let's outline 🍁 a plan for it, considering various courses and their respective cost: 1. Radar Observer Simulator Course (ROSC): ₹9500 2. Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA): ₹6000 3. Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS): ₹9000 4. Medical First Aid (MFA): ₹4000 5. Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF): ₹9500 6. Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB): ₹8000 7. Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) Radio Operator: ₹50000 (this includes - course, exam, Endorsement and GOC application fees) 8. Competency course for Second Mates: ₹42000 • Considering scheduling 📅 intervals between courses, the total duration for all courses amounts to 8 months(approx). • Therefore, if we consider the basic expense for fooding 🍱 and lodging 🏨 be ₹12000/month • Total for 8 months = 12000 X 8 = ₹96000 • 2nd mate Assessment fees = ₹3000 • For written 📝 exams it costs ₹1000/ function. Hence for three functions ₹3000. • Same for Orals, three functions = ₹3000 • If you're a DNS candidate🎖️and you apply for BSc it ll cost you ₹45000 • After you clear your 2nd mate's, COC application 📜 costs you ₹3000 •Total cost = ₹2,91,000 (Approx ₹3,00,000) ADDITIONALLY, THE COST CAN BE REDUCED BY: - For BSc candidates & DNS candidates(not willing to give BSc exam) can reduce the cost by ₹45000 - BSc candidates are exempted from the competency course for Second Mates, saving ₹42000. The indicated expense applies if you pass all the exam on your first attempt. Additionally, this represents the lowest 📉 calculated cost and may vary depending on lifestyle, choice of institute, travel 🛣️ and duration of courses. Please note, this information is provided to the best of my knowledge, and I'm available to clarify any doubts. Ps: This picture was taken during the competency course. Introducing....Jamie Clark, Senior Instructor (Marine). What is your focus and responsibilities at Clyde Training Solutions? I’ve worked with Clyde Training Solutions for over 3 and a half years now, and like all my colleagues I aim to deliver high quality and relevant training to students of all levels. My specific focus is on the day-to-day running of our newly launched Marine and Offshore Quayside Training Centre, delivering STCW and OPITO certified courses for both sectors. How does being an instructor differ to previous careers? Having worked on and around the water for the last 20 years I look to introduce specific experiences I have gone through as part of teaching, providing students with real life situations to be able to directly relate training to. What is the most satisfying aspect of the job? The most satisfying aspect of my job is helping people learn the skills that they can take away and develop, with the hope that they never need to use these but are equipped should the worst ever happen. #Safetytraining #MarineTraining #CompetencyBeyondCompliance

Saving lives is incredibly important, and that's why providing CPR training in schools is such a great idea. Teaching kids these skills early on can make a huge difference and save more lives in the future. Another amazing point is that she didn't waste any time taking a video; she jumped right into action. That's what really matters—taking responsibility and doing what's needed in the moment. #Responsibilities #CPR #takeaction #bharataher70

Associate Director - Head Physical R&D India- tapi (Polymorph screening / Solid state expert / Iron Complex Molecules )
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a critical lifesaving technique used in emergencies when someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped. Here are some key points highlighting its importance: 1. **Immediate Response**: CPR provides immediate aid, maintaining vital blood flow to the brain and other organs until professional medical help can arrive. This immediate response can significantly increase the chances of survival. 2. **Preventing Brain Damage**: The brain can suffer irreversible damage after just a few minutes without oxygen. CPR helps maintain oxygenated blood flow to the brain, reducing the risk of long-term neurological damage. 3. **Bystander Intervention**: Studies have shown that the likelihood of survival increases when CPR is performed by a bystander. Public awareness and training can empower more people to act confidently in emergencies. 4. **Time-Sensitive**: Every minute counts in cardiac arrest situations. The quicker CPR is administered, the better the outcomes. Effective CPR can double or even triple a person's chance of survival. 5. **Widespread Training**: Promoting widespread CPR training can create a community of responders. Schools, workplaces, and community centers often offer CPR training, making it accessible to a broader population. 6. **Enhancing Emergency Response**: While waiting for emergency services to arrive, CPR can bridge the gap, providing critical support that improves the overall effectiveness of the emergency response system. 7. **Versatility**: CPR is not only for heart attacks but also for other emergencies like drowning, choking, or severe allergic reactions, making it a versatile and essential skill. Overall, CPR is a vital skill that can save lives, mitigate damage, and improve outcomes in emergency situations. Promoting CPR training and awareness can significantly enhance community health and safety.

3moOn behalf of my son , are Tyne and Wear FRS trainee applicants restricted by post code i.e. does the applicant already have to live in county before application? Most FRS around the country are operating like this. He would be more than happy to relocate should he get through selction, for obvious reasons, to be part of the community
