Today I’m excited to share the post below announcing our VOICES of Black Women cohort study, for which ACS is the FIRST to conduct a cohort study focussed on the recruitment of 100,000 Black women, and the ONLY to have a study of this size focussed on the lived experience of Black women and the linkage to cancer outcomes. Everyone can play a role in this and here is how 🗣️ - If you are a Black woman between the ages of 25-55, please consider learning more about and enrolling in the VOICES of Black Women cohort study. - If you are an employer, consider sharing this opportunity with your employee resource groups as every ERG can participate through amplification or eligible participation. Black women are 8% less likely to be diagnosed with cancer than white women but 12% more likely to die if diagnosed. Decades of underrepresentation in clinical research, means less effective interventions. Let’s fix that.
