It's a new year, and the perfect time to take a look back at our successes in knowledge-sharing, commending our most popular articles and their authors. Working backwards, our 5th most clicked article of 2023 is from our very own Nikhil Khatri. In this article, Nikhil guides us through the increasing trend of small business restructuring (SBR) appointments, and provides a practical guide on their tax implications. With the increasing amount of Director Penalty Notices (DPNs) from the ATO leading to a marked increase in SBR appointments, it's no surprise that this article became a hugely valuable resource. Congratulations! 🎉 Read on: https://lnkd.in/gWfSGucv #smallbusinessrestructuring #tax #ato #smallbusiness

If I made the rules things would be different... It's the nature of our role as accountants that we help clients understand the rules and regulations they need to follow whilst making sure they maximise the opportunities available to them. You can imagine the scenario's that get put in front of me from clients and people that I speak to and sometimes (not always) the answer is that it wouldn't work - I know this isn't an answer that they want to hear! This is usually taken on board but often with a bit of moaning about the tax or the "potential" saving they could have made. Please do remember your accountant doesn't make up the tax rules, like any other business owner they would like to pay less tax to 😁 #business #planning #growth

A very useful article from Jay Morris and Leo Lopez. They outline practical steps to address the need for new and updated controls due to Pillar Two. This will help with organising the Pillar Two to do list for quarterly / half year or full year reporting. #DeloittePillarTwoTaxAccounting
