Did you know that recycling can significantly cut down greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions? As we celebrate World Environment Day 2024, it's crucial to recognise the significant role that recycling plays in addressing climate change and environmental degradation. At Petgrave.io Data Analytics, we understand the transformative power of data in optimizing recycling processes and maximising their environmental impact. Read our latest blog post to explore how data-driven recycling contributes to strengthening climate resilience and mitigating the adverse effects of desertification and land degradation. https://lnkd.in/eWPugdNv

Project Drawdown is launching a major new initiative: Drawdown Food, to equip people in the food systems sector with the tools and insights they need to reduce emissions. As they say: "Food is the forgotten frontier of climate action. While energy, transportation, and industry garner much of the attention, what we eat and how we grow is one of the biggest contributors to global greenhouse gas emissions." According to Project Drawdown executive director Jonathan Foley, “Using available technologies and practices, we can meet every person’s food needs while also neutralizing the food system’s impact on climate. We just need to apply the right combinations of solutions in the right place at the right time.” #climate #sustainablefood

Wetland ecosystems are central to the water cycle. Restoring degraded wetlands and tacking drivers of their loss is a path to a water-resilient future.
Due to climate change and unsustainable levels of water demand, more than half of the world's large lakes are drying up. Fortunately, there are several solutions that can help to stem freshwater losses: ✅Increasing wastewater recycling ✅Using less water-intensive ways of growing crops ✅Managing existing freshwater resources more effectively via World Economic Forum

70% of world’s fresh water is used for agricultural produce, as per World Economic Forum report below. This is definitely not sustainable. Climate Change is adding further blow by drying up fresh water lakes worldwide. We must develop more agri-tech farming facilities and move to drip irrigation, as well as build more dams and reservoirs to collect and store rain water and other fresh water flows from snow and glacier melts during summer. Reducing carbon and methane emission will also bear considerable fruits on all fronts. We just need to take the right steps NOW and on war footing basis, before it gets too late…
