U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Post

Today marks the 50th anniversary of our Resident Inspector Program! Since 1974, our resident inspectors have been the eyes and ears of the NRC at #nuclear power plants across the country. We’ve spent the past few months highlighting our highly skilled resident inspectors and what they love most about their role. Our video today shows how impactful the resident inspector program has been to career development for some of our highest-ranking officials. We’re always looking for qualified individuals to join the front lines of nuclear safety. For more information on the program and how to apply, check out: https://www.usajobs.gov/job/794762600

Most of the senior leaders in this video were resident inspectors at stations where I worked as a licensed operator. They were always very sharp, probing, and professional. It is a great job at any point in a nuclear career! I have really enjoyed my 21 year career in the NRC, after a 12 year utility career.

Residents do an amazing job and sacrifice stability since they have to move often! They are a valuable part of the NRCs mission! I’ve known many incredible people who have accepted the challenge!
