Yes, yes, I can see the advantages of a large, quickly deployable source of energy for when one has to quickly build a base in the mddle of nowhere: deserts, swamps or rocky environments, for instance, with scarce or no grid in sight, as a given army has been doing for the past 40 years. And I can see that security wouldn't be an issue in a military base but... I can see... some... little, tiny, itty-bitty risks in placing small nuclear reactors in places that, by definition, could be targeted by big things that go boom (or, more recently, that could have to be evacuated in a rush leaving all the materiels behind in the hands of not too nice people...)

Due to COVID-19 pandemic era inflation, and other issues with estimating cost updates, the US Minuteman III ground-based #nuclear arsenal replacement program exceeded its budget. This triggered a Nunn McCurdy Act breach, which, broken down, means that going over budget will require the Pentagon to justify to Congress the value of keeping the program going. The Nunn McCurdy Act is "breached" in any event that a Major Defense Acquisition Program exceeds its budget by a set threshold limit. #defenseindustry #defensetechnology
