This applicant (under 700 GMAT, 2 attempts) shared an unusual reason for selecting MBA Crystal Ball over the other consultants. A quick query first related to the image. What's there to celebrate when you get a low GMAT score...twice? Not much if you fall for the unrealistic dreams sold by admission consultants to pump up your ego, and their revenue. Plenty, when you use your discretion (and common sense) to realise that the elite programs may be beyond reach, but there still plenty of good schools that'll help you with your career goals. You just need to know where to look. Our friend in the pic worked with MBA Crystal Ball, after evaluating multiple teams. Among the other reasons, he felt we were not 'irrational'. When that's a factor to filter out mentors, it says a lot about the practices prevalent in the admissions consulting industry. He had read numerous M7/T10 success stories we've published, but he appreciated the fact that we didn't push him in that direction. The application strategy we recommended was aligned with his profile, his goals his priorities...and not ours. He got multiple admits with this low GMAT score, with one b-school offering scholarship as well. Story coming up on the MBA Crystal Ball blog soon. Till then, stay rational!

The title should actually be 'Affordable AND Reputed'. Going only for the cheapest would mean you'd be dropping all quality filters and ending up with worst of the lot. That's not what we want. So here's what we've done. We've started off with the world's top ranking MBA programs (according to Financial Times and US News) to ensure a basic quality threshold, and then ranked them by tuition. Don't expect any M7/T10 names in the list. This one's for applicants who value RoI more than pedigree. There's one in there that offers a full-tuition waiver to almost 90% of the class. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/dcQDYtnk #businessschools #mba #gmat

🌟 The Role of GMAT/GRE in Your MBA Application 🌟 When applying for an MBA, it's crucial to understand that GMAT/GRE scores play an important but not exclusive role in admissions. Let's explore how these tests fit into your application: AdComs' Hierarchy of Needs: Admissions Committees evaluate candidates using a "hierarchy of needs," with GMAT/GRE scores being a key component. High scores demonstrate your intellectual capability but don’t guarantee admission. Exceptional achievements can offset lower scores. Strategic Test-Taking Tips: GRE vs. GMAT: If your GMAT scores are low, consider the GRE. Retakes: Avoid taking the GMAT more than three times without significant changes to your study plan. Scholarships & Realistic Expectations: Merit-Based Scholarships: High scores can earn scholarships. Realistic View: Remember, while 80% of applicants are qualified, only a fraction get accepted. Balance ambition with realism. Case Studies & Misconceptions: Candidates with sub-600 GMAT scores who get into top programs are rare exceptions, often with extraordinary compensatory factors. Final Thoughts: While GMAT/GRE scores are important, they’re just one part of your application. Strong leadership, unique stories, and professional achievements are also crucial.
