It’s that time again. This is MHC’s 8th year in a row to participate in No Shave November. Over the seven previous years, MHC employees & friends have contributed over $100,000 to No Shave to help battle cancer. So what is No Shave November?? It’s a movement to grow cancer awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose during treatment, and let it grow wild and free. You simply donate the money you typically spend on shaving and grooming to the foundation to fund education about cancer prevention, save lives and aid those fighting the battle against cancer. Men and women are both encouraged to participate. Men can participate by growing a beard or mustache. If you’re not into facial hair, that’s OK, you can join in by skipping a haircut. Women can let those legs go au naturel by not shaving/waxing (it’s leggings season anyway so no one will know) or skipping a hair appointment. If you’re not into growing facial hair, hairy legs or skipping a haircut, that’s fine. Just look at your contribution as an opt out fee that’s going to a good cause. I’m sure all of you know or have someone close to you (family member, friend or co-worker) that has been affected by some form of cancer. In an effort to increase awareness and help raise money for prevention and education, I'm asking the LinkedIn community for support in our campaign for No Shave November. This year MHC's goal is to raise $15,000. This money will help fund a variety of programs such as Fight Colorectal Cancer, American Cancer Fund, Aim at Melanoma Foundation, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and others. Thanks for your consideration and support! Stay hairy, my friends! https://lnkd.in/dHRy2fiV

Coaching Executives to find their "North Star" | Career Acceleration, Transition & Change | Unlock Peak Performance | Elevate Life Fulfillment | Corporate Healer
This post reflects the clarity and understanding of what’s important that comes with the unfortunate situation of terminal cancer. Reading this post will remind you that we’re blessed just to be alive and uniquely wonder ourselves in every way. #inspiration #motivation #personalgrowth #personaldevelopment #coaching #executivecoach #lifeisagift
A most inspiring post. "The thought I keep coming back to is how lucky it is to have lived at all. To exist is to have won the lottery. In fact, there are so many bits of extraordinarily-unlikely good luck that have occurred just for us to be born, that it’s like hitting the jackpot every day of the year."

Thank you to those who have supported my head shave cops for cancer fundraiser. https://lnkd.in/gzZqMrt7 In the interests of education and to thank those who have supported me, please see below. Some learnings from long hair. DANGERS: 1. Hair straighteners. Huh? Try using these in the morning before your coffee and you are lucky if you escape with just a burned head with your ears intact. 2. There is something called conditioner and it costs lots of money but I don't know what it does. 3. Allowing your dogs in the bed for a cuddle can result in being unable to move as they are now lying on your hair and it feels like your head will fall off if you get up. 4. The police,. When giving away your child's soccer boots because they are too small, do not answer the door when you are cooking; wearing a hairnet, a pair of disposable gloves, red scrubs and holding a large chopping knife, It tends to scare people away. 5. When eating spaghetti, tie your hair up with a hair tie (if you can find one of these bloody things that hang with bic pens and single socks in the alternative universe), if you don't want to inadvertently carry out the Head impulse test as shown here by the wonderful AIB team. https://lnkd.in/guRRBcuv More enlightenment tomorrow when I discuss the benefits of long hair, I am here all week.

Hi everyone! Our youngest son Aidan was born with a heart defect and a rare disease called Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (also known as PCD). During the month of October, Running On Air hosts a virtual race called Move 4 A Cure. All proceeds from this event and money donated go to the PCD Foundation. We have a team called "Team Aidan" if you'd like to join us for this great cause: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eSjtWaJg "Mileage can be completed anytime in October. This event is done on the honor system. You can choose how far you want to walk or run to complete this event. Five meters for those with severe disabilities or other difficulties that prevent them from going a longer distance. 5K for those who can do more than 5 meters. And 5 miles for those of you who are athletic or just ambitious. You can also choose to complete the mileage throughout the month. Do .1 miles a day to complete a 5K or a mile a day and do a 50K. It's all your choice." What is PCD? Primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) is a rare genetic disease characterized by deficient mucociliary clearance (MCC), chronic respiratory tract infections, bronchiectasis, and declining respiratory function. Mutations in more than 40 different genes result in dysfunctional cilia and loss of MCC. PCD is a progressive disorder, meaning it will get worse over time, for which no cure currently exists. There are estimated to be more than 87,000 people affected with PCD across North America and Europe, with more worldwide. Thank you for reading! 🫰 It would really bless us if you'd share this post. #PCD #PrimaryCiliaryDyskinesia #RunningOnAir #Move4ACure #BreatheForPCD #TeamAidan
