We are very happy to announce a new technology partnership under the European IPCEI Hy2Tech framework with Elcogen! “We are happy to join forces under the umbrella of IPCEI Hy2Tech with Elcogen. Together we will address the key challenge of industrialising SOEC –the scale-up to industrial relevant module sizes. We look forward to developing this stack module solution with Elcogen and demonstrating it in our IPCEI Hy2Tech program.” SOEC is a game-changing electrolyser technology enabling intrinsic higher efficiencies compared to Alkaline, PEM or AEM electrolysers. Moreover, when SOEC is coupled to external heat sources from industrial processes, efficiencies in the range of 90% and beyond can be achieved. This advantage makes SOEC the technology of choice in industrial hydrogen production and also in e-Fuel production, especially where the exhaust heat of the synthesis process can be used. Martin Skov Skjøth-Rasmussen - “Through this collaboration and combination of complementary specialised expertise under the IPCEI Hy2Tech program, we hope to accelerate the development of modular solutions for the industrial scale deployment of solid oxide technology.” Thanks to Martin Skov Skjøth-Rasmussen and the whole Elcogen team for the great collaboration so far! Looking forward to industrialize SOEC technology together! https://lnkd.in/dDJR6Rj8 #avl #elcogen #soec

Faurecia’s project is part of the IPCEI (Important Project of Common European Interest) “Hy2tech”, which aims at developing and industrialising two new generations of carbon fiber gaseous hydrogen tanks and liquid hydrogen storage. The project includes accelerating development of more sustainable tanks focusing on the use of low-carbon materials and recyclability and cryogenic technology. R&D activities are managed in Bavans, and the industrialisation phase will happen at Allenjoie plant, which is Faurecia’s first hydrogen storage mass-production plant. The objective of this project is to reduce the price of hydrogen storage for mobility and distribution applications. The installation of the pilot production line for the GenII gas hydrogen tank is scheduled for mid-2026.

Exciting developments in hydrogen technology.
🌱🔋⚗️ Within the Interreg Deutschland-Nederland project “H2-Enabler”, the consortium is working on the cost-effective and mass production-ready forming of bipolar plates as key components in H2 fuel cells as it is of central importance for the energy transition. The project partners HoDforming GmbH, Reden Research & Development Nederland, the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Twente and NMWP Management GmbH are therefore investigating the potential of hot forming to produce metallic bipolar plates for H2 fuel cells. 📈👍 Therefore, the consortium appreciates that North Rhine-Westphalia (Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Industrie, Klimaschutz und Energie des Landes NRW) is driving forward the expansion of the hydrogen economy: After the federal government presented its hydrogen import strategy for Germany on July 24, 2024, North Rhine-Westphalia is the first federal state to follow with its own import concept and is positioning itself as an attractive partner for hydrogen suppliers from all over the world: https://lnkd.in/er6nQFWy 🧠 Are you working on the same topic or simply want to exchange ideas here? The Consortium of the SunCoChem #project (EU #H2020) met at Avantium, in Amsterdam, for the 48M meeting. The outcomes from the TRL4 #prototype experimental campaign were shared and discussed. Hysytech will employ them in optimizing the final TRL5 prototype to convert #CO2 into oxo-products: it is under construction and will be installed and commissioned at EURECAT Amposta next summer. The self-biased photo-electrochemical reactor prototype will be used to convert three different important #chemical precursors (limonene, butene e formaldehyde) into high-added value products, using waste CO2 from industrial flue gases and solar energy sources.
