Attended HLTH Europe in Amsterdam this week. Many good sessions, interesting companies exhibited and well created forum for US-Europe exchange on Healthtech and the current challenges and opportunities. The best session I heard was the one titled “New kids on the block: Exploring unconventional players in healthcare” featuring panelists from: Walmart Canada, La Poste, Uber, Novo Nordisk and facilitated by Visionaries of Health. Discussion on new roles in health, for instance the role of pharmacies, cross-sectoral collaboration: nurture, food and health etc., innovation in business models: travel clinics, convenience, etc.
New players coming into the space and filling in the gaps fx. in population management and building the ecosystems and finding the solutions, if the "public" system is not getting there, such as La Poste with interesting plans on their future integrator role.
This resonates with the things that I am curiously following and trying to learn more about. New ways of providing health is theme we have also discussed at Business Finland with our different stakeholders in Finland this spring, as we have prepared for the new healthtech program #H360Finland. We have dived into these topics with assistance of VTT, Deloitte, and Frost & Sullivan during that process. Since the program just got approved this week (whoop whoop! 📣 ), now looking forward to implementation and on how Business Finland will take up the challenge of bringing different players together to create better health outcomes for all and connecting #Finland to the global innovation playing field.
