Energy-ECS project focuses on the development of technologies for future mobility, encompassing various energy related challenges. In particular, LGE is involved in optimising the Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) link between mobile charging stations and drones, and in prototyping tags for continuous monitoring of the status of goods inside containers. The aim is to develop a set of technologies to improve the digitalization of e-mobility systems and related energy solutions. Runway Control Tower 🛫 Thrilled to share my latest project: a Runway Control Tower system that integrates an ultrasonic sensor mounted on a servo motor, functioning as a basic radar system! This setup simulates real-world radar technology, detecting objects in a 180-degree sweep across the runway, ensuring precision and safety. Using Arduino, I was able to create a system where the ultrasonic sensor, placed on a rotating servo, scans for obstacles or potential runway hazards. The radar detects the distance of nearby objects, rotating the servo to continuously update the control tower on real-time data. 🚨 This project showcases how ultrasonic sensors and servo motors can be used in practical applications, from obstacle detection to environmental mapping, with endless potential for further automation. #ArduinoProjects #RadarTechnology #RunwaySafety #Automation #IoT #UltrasonicSensors #Innovation #STEM #TechForGood

Radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting captures ambient electromagnetic waves from sources like Wi-Fi and cell towers and converts them into usable electrical power. This process involves an antenna to capture RF signals, a rectifier to convert AC to DC, and storage components like capacitors or small batteries to provide a stable power supply. #Applications RF energy harvesting is ideal for low-power IoT devices, wearables, remote sensors, and small wireless charging solutions. For small drones or #nano-drones in RF-rich environments, it could power lightweight sensors and low-power operations. #Challenges The main limitations include low power density, low conversion efficiency, the need for proximity to strong RF sources, and variable signal strength due to environmental factors. While promising, RF energy harvesting in drones is currently best suited for supplementing battery power rather than serving as a primary energy source.
