With its built-in satcom module, the Vortex vehicle-mounted computer from RuggON (a division of Ubiqconn) is designed to connect via the world’s only global satellite system with pole-to-pole coverage – the Iridium satellite network. Being a 7-inch touchscreen computer, it is also compact and ergonomic – an all-in-one satcom computer that takes very little space on your truck’s dashboard, yet it offers powerful Intel Core i5 computing and extreme connectivity. The Vortex is ruggedized and can withstand shocks, vibrations, and extreme weather, but the fact that it fits snugly in your vehicle’s cabin means it can survive very extreme weather conditions. Once the Vortex vehicle-mounted computer is installed in a vehicle, it uses the vehicle’s large self-recharging battery to stay switched on indefinitely. Now you can take that vehicle all the way to the Antarctic and drive it into the great untamed, blizzard-blown emptiness of the frozen continent. Once you leave 5G/LTE and Wi-Fi connections behind you, simply switch to the Vortex’s satcom system to stay connected with headquarters. 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗗𝗢 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗪𝗘𝗕-𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗩𝗘𝗛𝗜𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗛’𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗘 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗘𝗦? How do you get satellite-based communications and Intel Core i5 computing in a vehicle that has to traverse dangerous roads to serve extremely remote mining camps – far beyond the range of terrestrial signals like 5G/LTE and Wi-Fi? And how do you provide your vehicle operators with the ability to instantly send S.O.S. signals (that automatically include the vehicle’s location) via satellite? ANSWER: Use RuggON’s ‘Iridium Connected’ Vortex ruggedized VMC to run powerful software and exchange data via Iridium’s satellite system – the only SatCom system that covers the entire globe, including the Earth’s poles. This vehicle-mounted computer can be used to “satellite-connect” vehicles in the most remote parts of the planet. The ruggedized Vortex satcom VMC is a compact and ergonomic all-in-one device, so it fits easily inside the vehicle – this also reduces weather exposure and makes the Vortex even more reliable. Simply press a tab to instantly send an S.O.S. signal (that contains the device’s location data) via satellite. For more info, click this link and select “Viking” and “Product Information" and just type “Need info on Vortex VMC”. www.ruggon.com/en/contact #rugged #vmc #computer #polar #industrial #mining #forestry #transport #military #ubiqconn #satcom #iridium #satellite #connected

🛰️Remote sensing is the process of gathering information about the Earth’s surface from a distance, typically using satellite or airborne sensors. Here’s a brief overview: 🔷Energy Source: The process begins with an energy source, usually the Sun, which emits electromagnetic radiation. 🔶Atmospheric Interaction: The energy passes through the atmosphere, where it may be scattered or absorbed. 🔷Surface Interaction: The energy interacts with the Earth's surface, where different materials reflect or absorb energy in unique ways. 🔶Sensor Detection: Sensors on satellites or aircraft capture the reflected or emitted energy in specific wavelengths. 🔷Data Transmission and Processing: The captured data is transmitted to Earth, processed, and corrected for distortions. 🔶Data Analysis: The processed data is analyzed to extract useful information, such as identifying land cover types or monitoring environmental changes. 🔷Application: The information is applied in fields like agriculture, environmental monitoring, urban planning, and disaster management. #remotesensing #gis #sensor #satellite #geography

What is NVDI ?? How do we measure the roughness of seas?? NDVI stands for Normalized Difference Vegetation Index. It's a way of measuring the health and density of vegetation using satellite imagery. Healthy vegetation reflects more near-infrared light and less red light, so higher NDVI values indicate healthier and denser vegetation Some open-source tools you can use to study NDVI: Sentinel Toolbox QGIS ------------------------------------- Wind scatterometers are radar instruments mounted on satellites that measure wind speed and direction over the ocean surface. Imagine wind scatterometers as radar guns for wind. They shoot out microwave pulses towards the ocean like a radar gun fires light. The rougher the ocean surface (caused by wind), the more the microwaves bounce back (scatter) like a speeding car reflecting more light. By analyzing how much the microwave bounces back from different directions, scatterometers can figure out both the wind speed and direction, just like a radar gun tells you how fast something is moving. #isro
