Plenty to stew over from yesterday's #PrixGalien UK forum! 🌟 ~50% of patients stop taking life-long drugs within the first 6 months. Hakim Yadi Ph.D. OBE reflected that "every drug has a therapeutic window and every patient has their own reaction... when the side effects of the drug you're taking are worse than the disease itself, you're going to discontinue it". 🌟 Linking the above statement with Hilary Marston's reflection that "instead of protecting through research, we're protecting from research", key populations such as women and children aren't being adequately accounted for, particularly in post-approval research. 🌟"In the same way it takes a village to raise a child, it takes everyone in this room (industry, NHS, patients and citizens) to bring an innovative and transformative treatment to market".
