Many more neural pathways were created today…….again (this is happening a lot since I rejoined Vistage UK as a Chair and I couldn’t be happier about that!). What a privilege to listen to these 3 extraordinary speakers, the big messages of today? 1. We can feel optimistic about the economy for the first time in a while 2. Learning to manage Gen Z and Alpha should be a priority for all leaders. 3. Growth mindset feeds cognitive diversity which improves teams outputs. I could go on, but I’ll stop. Have a great weekend! #vistage #peeradvisorygroups #CEOs
Today we were lucky enough to hear from three great speakers at our Vistage UK Executive Summit in Edinburgh, Roger Martin-Fagg, Jessie Pavelka and Matthew Syed. Thank you to all of our Vistage Chairs, members, guests and sponsors that joined us!

It's almost Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity time and I am PUMPED! Growing up, so many people used to tell me to surround yourself with smarter and better people than you. And I didn't fully understand what that meant until I started building a business. When you're around people who challenge you, that's where you grow the most. By going to Cannes, I know it'll be exactly that - being challenged by some of the best people in the industry. That's what you need to be better every single day. That's why we're so ready to put ourselves in an environment where everything around you is better than what you're currently doing - the people, their approach to work and the type of work they produce. I'm looking forward to soaking it all up like a sponge or a lion cub... And I think there's really three big categories in the workforce that you can change quickly and see results from: mindset, skill set and tool set. By being at Cannes, I'm confident that we'll be exposing and opening up our mindset. Not to mention, the people who go to these events are philanthropic and work on social causes. They see problems in the world and want to actively help solve them. I can't wait to build deeper, meaningful connections with these people, it's not often you get to be around those who make a real difference. The work our team is doing now around brand strategy, creative and messaging absolutely feels like we're getting closer to producing the kind of work that gets submitted for Cannes. And I'm so proud of that. So, overall super excited. The agenda is out and we've already planned our days minute by minute. 😉 #NobleStudios #CannesLions #MeaningfulConnections

A year ago today, as an intern at Wasserman Media Group, I found myself in a fireside chat with golf executives when the news of the LIV Golf and PGA Tour merger broke. The announcement sent shockwaves across social media, igniting a pandemonium of predictions that these two giants of the men’s professional game would remain at odds. Today, the divide remains evident, highlighted by the contrasting spectacles of the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament in Ohio and LIV Golf’s Houston event. As an Entry-level DE&I Cultural Strategist, I’ve observed firsthand the challenges and missed opportunities in bridging such divides. The ongoing stalemate underscores the complexities of merging not just organizations but cultures and visions. Personal Take 👩🏾💻 ⛳ : To create a more inclusive framework for the merger, my approach would focus on integrating the core values and strengths of both organizations. This means fostering a culture of open dialogue and mutual respect, where diverse perspectives are not just heard but actively integrated into decision-making processes. By leveraging DE&I principles, we can build a unified vision that honors the rich histories of both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf while paving the way for a new era of innovation and inclusivity in the sport. In this new era, we would create joint events that celebrate diversity, implement shared governance structures, and develop community engagement initiatives that reflect our commitment to inclusion. Together, we can turn this period of contention into a powerful example of how the sports industry can lead to unity and cultural transformation. #DEI #DiversityAndInclusion #CulturalStrategy #GolfIndustry #LIVGolf #PGATour #GolfMerger #SportsLeadership #InclusiveFramework #GolfInnovation #ProfessionalGolf #SportsManagement #GolfCommunity #UnifiedVision #GolfCulture #SportsDiversity #GolfEvents #InclusiveGolf #SportsIndustry #CulturalTransformation

Excited to share insights from our recent Athennian CX Summit! 🚀 Last week, our Customer Experience team gathered in Florida, with some joining in-person and others virtually, from around 11 locations across North America. Here are some key takeaways: 🎯 Aligned Priorities: We had a task to pinpoint the most pressing challenge facing our department and propose solutions. Surprisingly, without any prior communication between different teams, we all independently identified the same challenge during our presentation time. This synchronized alignment allowed us to hit the ground running, and we immediately jumped into solutions. Had this been conducted virtually, the process could have stretched over a couple of months as we navigated the complexities of aligning the perspectives of more than 20 individuals. 👥 In-Person Collaboration: While I appreciate the conveniences that new technologies offer for virtual connections, nothing quite compares to the experience of building relationships in person. The summit provided an amazing opportunity to connect with colleagues face-to-face, meet new faces and engage in real, meaningful conversations. We showed how easy it is to fix a problem when multiple people jump to help, bringing diverse perspectives. But also, meeting someone in person allows you to connect on a personal level, not just as colleagues, but as friends too. 🤝 💼 Employee Experience (EX): Early this year for the first time I heard about the official correlation between CX & EX and how valuable it is. Understanding how the satisfaction and engagement of our employees directly influence the experiences of our customers has fundamentally shifted my perspective. It shows how important it is the prioritization of EX initiatives alongside CX efforts, recognizing that a positive employee experience lays the foundation for exceptional customer experiences. Big shout out to the organizing team: Carlos RamosKatie RobitailleAndrew de Jesus Malicia Basdeo 🙏 Remember, happy employees equal happy customers, and vice versa. Let's keep working together to create exceptional experiences for all! #CXSummit #TeamWork #EmployeeExperience #CustomerExperience
Our CX team at Athennian across the US and Canada met in sunny Florida for our annual summit! It was a week of bonding, professional, and personal growth through fun, interactive activities. Is the Silverstone Grand Prix just about speed and adreniline? Not at all.....the British Grand Prix significantly benefits the #northamptonshire economy.....and here’s why: 💷 The race attracts over 400,000 spectators during the weekend, filling local hotels, campsites, and B&B's. Visitors spend on accommodation, meals, and entertainment, providing a substantial boost to the hospitality sector - Whittlebury Park and the new Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone for example 🍔 Pubs, restaurants, and shops near the circuit experience increased footfall....from merchandise sales to food and beverages, businesses thrive during the event, our local pub which is just a few miles from the circuit will be full. 🏎️ The area has become the epi-centre of the motor-racing industry and supply-chains, with a huge talent-pool of engineers, designers, manufacturing businesses and professional firms, all providing high-tech, highly skilled jobs - for example the Catesby Projects facility near #Daventry 🧑 The Grand Prix creates temporary jobs for local residents, including security, catering, and event staff - of all ages, and provides a great experience. 🛣️ The race drives infrastructure improvements......roads (like the A43 link from M40 to M1), parking facilities, and utilities (including a great local internet backbone) enhancing the region’s overall appeal. 🚀 The event receives global media coverage, showcasing Northamptonshire’s scenic beauty and cultural heritage..........attracting future tourists and investors - the members of the Silverstone Technology Cluster being a great example. 🍾🍾 The event fosters community pride and engagement. Locals participate in festivities, volunteer, and celebrate - this year its #kingsofleon. 📈 So the British Grand Prix isn’t just about speed and adrenaline; it fuels economic #growth, supports local businesses, and strengthens community bonds. Its great to be at the heart of all this at #towcester Business Buzz - Local Business Networking. The picture of #nigelmansells F1 winning car was from the reception at Canon Europe where I spent a couple of years of my career. #growth #silverstone #grandprix #businessowner

Phil Gaimon taking cycling into the mainstream hospitality industry. Guest experience value add ✔️ Brand partnerships value add ✔️ Targeted new customer acquisition ✔️ Seeing Fairmont Hotels & Resorts take this approach begs the question: Why aren't there more cycling brand and hospitality industry partnerships and collaborations of this kind? And it doesn't have to be all about the lycra (sorry Phil). Ebikes present a golden opportunity, enabling guests to explore holiday destinations in a way that a bus or walking tour simply can't: - Vineyards and local foodie destinations. - Cultural and heritage sites. - Coastal views and countryside vistas. All are more engaging, immersive, memorable experiences when shared on two wheels. Critically, 'made possible by ebikes' is a holiday experience presented to an audience many of whom won't / don't (yet) call themselves 'cyclists'. 1) A golden opportunity to engage people who could become future customers of a cycling industry keen to wow and woo a new mobility audience. 2) An audience that sees mainstream media talking about an ebike as a great car replacement option for the right journey type: Local travel. 3) A travel and tourism opportunity which tracks a major societal and environmental shift towards micromobility and EV (on 2 wheels, or 4) How better to showcase this to prospective customers than in dream destinations, as part of truly memorable holiday experiences? #travelandtourism #brandpartnerships #experientialmarketing #cyclingindustry #globalbusiness #hospitalityindustry #hospitalitytourism #sportsindustry #sportsbusiness #customerexperience #communitybuilding #brandexperience #sharedexperiences #immersiveexperiences #uniqueoppotunities #cycling #activetravel #marketing #audiencedevelopment #audienceengagement #newcustomers

You are what you eat. And also the information (and inspiration) you consume. For me, Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is a rich, nourishing feast that feeds both mind and spirit. It does little good for my body, though — but hey, we all walk a lot here, and that makes my Apple Watch happy. Anyway, Cannes isn't exactly a budget-friendly affair. Years ago, a great boss I had gave me this excellent piece of advice: if you're at a good point in your career and have the chance to invest in yourself, consider Cannes. Don't wait for your agency to foot the bill. The competition for those internal budgets is fierce — creative leads with specific KPIs, long-standing employees, and, let's be honest, a bit of office politics. Getting sponsored isn't exactly a guaranteed outcome. So, if you're serious about propelling yourself forward, about rewarding yourself for a year of hard work, invest some of your hard-earned Euros in this experience. After all, your personal growth is mostly your responsibility, not your employer's. Take charge of your own journey. Be the leader of your own creative evolution. There are so many options available: student passes, young professional options, special passes, and quite convenient digital passes if traveling is not your thing. Great efforts from the organizers to make the festival more accessible. Can they do more? Let's see. For me, most of the good things that have happened professionally are connected to Cannes — friends old and new from all over the world, jobs landed, promotions earned, awards received, the big frustrations, the awards not won (and the lessons I've learnt)– it's all somehow been related to that one week in June, year after year. Cannes teaches you things that are not taught anywhere else. This is like my 12th Cannes... And if you ask me where I'll be next year the third week of June... #CannesLions2024 #CannesLions #InvestInYourself #LifelongLearning #CareerDevelopment #LeadershipMindset #CreativeGrowth #CannesLessons
