The conventional practice of gathering duplicates in fixed proportions often leads to samples from low-grade waste ore instead of mineralized zones, rendering the analysis results irrelevant for assessing laboratory accuracy. Most regions around the world are affected by changes in moisture due to seasonal influences. The tonnage data used in reconciliation work should always be dry tonnage data. This means that if the original tonnage data contains moisture, the moisture content should be measured and deducted before conducting data analysis. Although this task itself is not complex, it is often overlooked in practice. In 2001, riding the wave of the new millennium, KATOWICE became the epicenter of global innovation and cooperation. The International Mining, Energy, Metallurgy and Chemistry Fair brought together more than 550 exhibitors from 23 countries, transforming Silesia's industrial landscape into a dynamic forum for discussing the future of technology and industry. It was a time when Silesia's local aspirations met global challenges, creating a unique space for dialog and innovation. As Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek recalled, the value of the event translated into a powerful affirmation of the fair's stature on the international stage. Jan Hoppe, then Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Katowice International Fair, emphasized the growing importance of the energy and chemical sectors, which testifies to the development and economic diversification of the region. Marshal Jan Olbrycht added that the stereotypes of Silesia as an exclusively industrial region are now a thing of the past. Thus, KATOWICE 2001 was not only a celebration of technology, but first and foremost a witness to the birth of a new era, where tradition meets innovation and stereotypes give way to new possibilities.
