This year has been intense and rewarding for UCA&AIR . I had the opportunity to learn and apply advanced composite lamination techniques. I gained experience in manually laminating carbon fiber and using the infusion method, working with materials like peel-ply and distribution mesh (as shown in the photos). This is the first year we’ve worked with these materials, and starting from scratch has been challenging. The experience has allowed me to understand the differences in surface finishes between techniques and how we can improve in the future. In the 24-25 academic year, I will continue researching and refining these techniques, aiming to also learn how to use prepreg in addition to dry fiber. I want to thank Aeroserve for teaching us dry fiber lamination techniques, which were crucial for our participation in the ACC with "Taurus Orbi." I also want to acknowledge the Fablab at the School of Engineering, University of Cádiz; without their support, our model airplane "Barbie" would not have been possible. #AirCargoChallenge2024
