As this #PRIDE month closes, our support for the LGBTQIA+ community never stops. We are proud to support this community during June and the rest of the year. This year’s Sacramento Pride Festival saw one of the strongest turnouts to date of University of California, Davis and UC Davis Health employees and students coming together to celebrate love, diversity, and equality. We will continue to advocate for the needs of others and empower our LGBTQIA+ employees to develop their own supportive social network of colleagues, collaborators, peers and allies. #HappyPride! 💛🏳️🌈💙 Video description: A compilation of clips from the Sacramento Pride March which includes individuals gathered waving, cheering, and participating in the parade around Sacramento. “True Colors” by XO Cupid ft. As a kid and teenager, I was always surrounded by homophobic jokes and comments that held me back for years from being who I am. I often think about how many kids, teens, and even adults are going through the same experience and being prevented from fully being themselves. That’s where Allyship can play a big role. This month we launched a campaign called “I am all in on Allyship” to raise awareness about what it’s to be an Ally. Everyone can help eliminate homophobia or any sort of discrimination by speaking up when they see or hear something that is not inclusive. This applies to any minority, whether it’s women, blacks, Latinos, or people with disabilities. #Allyship is not about staying quiet and not corroborating a comment; it’s about standing up against what is being said. So, if I may ask your help this month (and always) is: - Listen Actively and Empathetically: One of the most powerful ways to be an ally is by truly listening. Really listening. - Use Your Position to Amplify Minority Voices: amplify the voices of those who are often unheard. - Educate Yourself and Others: seek to learn about the histories, struggles, and cultures of the communities they support. - Take Action Against Injustice: Defend against discriminatory remarks or behaviors, support policies that promote equality, and participate in activism. By doing these things, we can change the world and create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this quote from Laverne Cox: "We all have the right to a world that's free of hate and violence." This month is a celebration, but it’s also a reminder of the challenges the LGBTQIA+ community still faces. Those of us who aren’t part of this community have certain privileges that we often take for granted. Simple things, like holding hands with a partner in public or talking about our relationships at work, are freedoms that many LGBTQIA+ people don’t always feel safe enjoying. ⚠ Imagine having to hide who you are for fear of rejection or violence. ⚠ - That’s a reality for too many people. For those of us in positions of leadership or influence, it’s crucial to use our privilege to create environments of acceptance and support. This can mean advocating for inclusive policies, actively standing against hate, and simply making our workplaces and communities more welcoming. Creating a safe and inclusive environment isn't just about big gestures; it’s also about small, everyday actions: 1️⃣ It’s about listening, learning, and standing up for others. 2️⃣ It’s about making sure everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. As Pride Month wraps up, let's not let the spirit fade away. Let’s commit to being allies in our daily lives. Because when we all stand together, we move closer to a world that truly is free of hate and violence. 🌈 #NaazWarriorPrincess #Pride #PrideMonth

Awareness is recognizing that some kids play differently. Acceptance is being flexible when someone doesn’t play the same way as you. INCLUSION is inviting them to play regardless. Parks are hard. Maybe more for me, but I see it in her eyes too. This month is the perfect opportunity to have an age appropriate conversation about inclusion with your kids. When kids are aware they understand how to accept and most importantly INCLUDE. #autismawareness #autismacceptance #autisminclusion

🗓️ June is one of my favourite months of the year 6️⃣ 🌈 While I read posts celebrating Pride Month, I realize is also the 13th anniversary of the Ruggie’s “Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. “🔖 The intersection of both occasions is clear: business have a vital role towards the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people. And businesses are built by the people! As I reflect on my journey towards an LGBTQIA+ ally, here are some steps I have taken: ➡️ I took time to educate myself on language use or historical events such as the Stonewall riots. ➡️ I tried to ask and listen before stating. Because only members of the community can say what feels right - or wrong. ➡️ I worked to challenge and unlearn the biases ingrained in my upbringing. ➡️ I started to speak out against exclusive statements or microagressions. Today beyond my corporate role, I continue on my learning journey. 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈Because the basics are in the Human Rights Declaration: all human beings are equal. #pridemonth #humanrights

May is more than just a month — it's a celebration of diversity, resilience, and unity! Join us as we highlight key events in the LGBTQIA+ calendar: May 17 - International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia: On this day, we reaffirm our commitment to eradicating discrimination and championing equality for all. Let's raise our voices, stand in solidarity, and spread love and acceptance far and wide. May 17 - Pink Shirt Day: Wear pink and take a stand against bullying! Pink Shirt Day is a powerful reminder that kindness, compassion, and inclusion are the cornerstones of a supportive community. Let's create a world where everyone feels safe and respected, regardless of who they are or who they love. May 24 - Pansexual Visibility Day: Celebrate the beautiful diversity of attraction and affirm the visibility of pansexual individuals. Pansexuality acknowledges that love transcends gender, embracing the spectrum of human experience and connection. Let's amplify pan voices, challenge stereotypes, and foster understanding within our communities. Together, we can create a world where everyone feels seen, accepted, and celebrated. Together, let's embrace diversity, celebrate love in all its forms, and pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future! 💖

Allyship starts with a belief in equality. But that's just the beginning. It means leaning into acceptance of lived experiences. Actively fighting against oppression. Truly understanding your own privilege and using it to stand with and for others so that we all benefit from the steps toward equality. There's always been purposeful effort by Mediavine team members to make sure we can all show up exactly as who we are and be accepted wholly. It's my very favorite thing about the place we have built. #pride #socialimpact #equity #equality
At Mediavine, we believe the future is inclusive. Our commitment to belonging is woven throughout every pillar of our organization, from Social Impact to Publisher Support. Today we’re highlighting two initiatives through which we’re supporting the LGBTQIA+ community: Shine is our corporate community outreach pillar dedicated to developing ways for both our publisher partners and our employees to give back to the communities and organizations we — and they — support, online and off. Through Uplift, we’re delivering equity in ad spend to thousands of diverse publishers, enabling advertisers to support these creators and reach their audiences at scale. Join us in building and celebrating a world where everyone belongs. Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈

For centuries, humans have used flowers and other plants to express emotions like love, courage, and hope. This includes members of the LGBTQIA+ community, who have used plants to identify each other, express romantic interest, and as symbols of resistance and empowerment.
