Conclusions: There was a dose–response relationship of length of mobile phone use with incident NMSC in men and women, and prostate cancer in men. Impact: Our findings underscore the importance of limiting mobile phone use or keeping a distance from mobile phone for primary prevention of NMSC and prostate cancer.

Happy to share that our latest comprehensive review paper on the role of fibroblasts in large-vessel vasculitides (LVV) has been published in Autoimmunity Reviews! In this review we discuss the pivotal role of fibroblasts in giant cell arteritis (GCA) and Takayasu arteritis (TAK) and explore how fibroblasts may contribute to the initiation and progression of inflammatory processes in large-vessel vasculitides. In addition, we discuss potential therapeutic targets and strategies involving fibroblasts to improve treatment outcomes and identified critical questions and future research directions to enhance our understanding of the role of fibroblasts in LVV. Special thanks to first author Shuang Xu and senior author Maria Sandovici for driving this collaborative effort. Today is World Cholangiocarcinoma Day. It's a day to "raise much-needed awareness" of CCA & advocate for a "smoother journey to diagnosis," according to the Global Cholangiocarcinoma Alliance. Don't miss this insightful new article on CCA by our contributor Amanda Brink, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, AOCNP, who discusses the importance of molecular testing for these patients: https://buff.ly/49gUZKK #WorldCCADay #BeClearOnCCA

✨✨✨In the population of patients with oligometastatic CRPC, SBRT enables long-term biochemical response and PFS. ✨✨ In the oligoprogressive setting, SBRT could be integrated to prolong the duration and efficacy of systemic therapies. ✨✨✨ Nevertheless, the level of evidence remains very low and inclusion within prospective trials remain the preferred option for this population of patients. ✅PEACE 8 TRIAL to start very soon to evaluate this strategy 🇫🇷 Jennifer Le Guévelou Ronan Flippot David Pasquier Association Francaise d'Urologie - AFU Unicancer Amethyst Radiothérapie France Tamim Niazi McGill University https://lnkd.in/ekSaTVnw

t’s time for the last (but by no means least) new #Type1DiabetesGrandChallenge #research project spotlight! 🌟 🧫 Prof David Hodson, Dr Ildem Akerman, and Dr Johannes Broichhagen are pioneering new approaches to replace, protect, and regenerate insulin-making beta cells. 🔍Harnessing their expert knowledge of molecules called incretin receptors, which are found on the surface of beta cells and act as on-off switches to help control the release of insulin, they’ll explore how to make better beta cells ready for transplantation, protect the beta cells from an immune attack, and to regrow beta cells inside the pancreas. A study was done in a prospective tertiary cohort with CLD, to assess clinical performance against liver biopsy of different Noninvasive methods (NIMs) : 1.For advanced and bridging fibrosis: LIVERFASt Fibrosis test, Enhanced liver fibrosis score (ELF), FIB-4 and LSM using vibration controlled transient elastography (VCTE). 2.For steatosis (mild, moderate and marked): LIVERFASt Steatosis test and CAP (Fibroscan) in NAFLD patients, including a control group with CLD without steatosis (S0)]. Conclusion: • LIVERFASt can be an alternative to imaging methods for stratifying patients with NAFLD and NASH. • LIVERFASt is a blood biomarker for fibrosis and steatosis staging fibrosis and steatosis with similar performances to VCTE/CAP in patients with CLD. • LIVERFASt and VCTE outperformed ELF for staging advanced liver fibrosis. #liverfast #fibronosticsstudies #NAFLD #NASH Find out more https://lnkd.in/guJqrVEy

Enrollment complete! The Centricity study, our Phase IIb trial evaluating HTD1801 (berberine ursodeoxycholate) in people with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (#MASH; also known as nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, #NASH) with co-morbid type 2 #diabetes or pre-diabetes has enrolled 218 patients in the US, Hong Kong & mainland China. We are excited to see how the gut-liver anti-inflammatory metabolic modulator will affect their liver histology, and grateful to all of the patients who are helping us to make advancements in treatment for this serious chronic liver disease. Stay tuned for updates as the trial progresses. #liverdisease #metabolism #drugdevelopment #clinicalresearch $HIGHTIDE2511

B cell depletion is one of the most efficient treatment regimen in #multiplesclerosis, yet its clinical efficacy remains largely enigmatic. In our recent study led by Can Ulutekin and Galli Edoardo at the Becher lab of the University of Zurich we performed longitudinal profiling of MS patients undergoing B cell depletion. We uncovered B cell/T cell interactions mediated by the CD27/CD70 axis as potential driver of the clinical efficacy of B cell depleting therapies. Many thanks to all our valuable collaborators and the patients that donated samples for this study! Paper: https://lnkd.in/eWP_aU_k X-torial: https://lnkd.in/eK2SuGeE
