🧀 NEW SPECIES DESCRIPTION! 🧀 Happy to share our work on three novel species description isolated from cheese rinds! It was a long process that I started during my PhD (more than four years ago), and now I am proud that it's finally out at International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology 🙌 Briefly, this journey included (i) collection of cheese rind samples, (ii) laboratory investigation 🧫🔍, and (iii) documenting the details found about the new species 📝 Huge thanks to all collaborators for their efforts INRAE: Pierre Renault, Christophe Monnet, Françoise Irlinger; Leibniz Institute DSMZ – German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures: Jacqueline Wolf, Meina Neumann-Schaal, Anja Frühling; DTU Biosustain: Mathieu Virsolvy. 🔬 Throwback to my scientific initiation days! During my undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences at Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), I was confronted with a challenging outbreak of chlamydiosis in parrots at a wildlife screening center in Vitória da Conquista. Our mission? To establish a robust molecular diagnostic protocol suitable for a large-scale operation.
