Happy Thursday! I hope your week has been highly successful. Of course, success means different things to different people. In Phase Four: Review Weekly of the SWORD Inclusion System, we define success to sustain our continued efforts. The intention is to equip organizations and individuals to create inclusion in everyday life. Here are some steps to sustain inclusive success. --- SEEK OUT INCLUSION: It’s important to keep seeking opportunities for more inclusion and celebrate how it feels. --- MAKE IT A TOPIC OF INTEREST: By making it a continuous topic or a company value, it is easier to focus on.  --- INCLUDE IT IN ALL ASPECTS: Inclusion is in strategy, marketing, operations, and financials because exclusion is too pervasive. The more inclusion we have, the more people which equals more success. To me, being on snow is truly heaven on earth. Why not share it!? While we all experience ups and downs, the downs could be an opportunity for reconditioning. Reviewing the week, Phase Four of the SWORD Inclusion System iterates the value of reconditioning ourselves for inclusivity. Consider it a way to prepare ourselves for what is coming. Here are a few things to consider. --- THE NUMBERS ADD UP: The more we focus on inclusion, the more we can find it. We build inclusive momentum. --- THE CHALLENGES BUILD CREATIVITY: The sifting and the sorting of new inclusive efforts that allow us to keep including. We forge a new path. --- THE CONDITION PRODUCES UNDERSTANDING: We can understand why someone thinks the way they do. We commit to displaying another option. We can condition ourselves to seek the brighter side because there is always a brighter side. Always! Happy Thursday! I wish you a fulfilling day. Reviewing the week puts me in a position where I reflect on the joy of aligning with inclusion. When we focus on inclusion, we receive justice, equity, and diversity by default, or it’s not inclusivity. Hence, we view everything with an inclusive lens and alter behavior accordingly. Here are a few examples. --- SEEK ALIGNMENT VS. AGREEMENT: We align on honoring each other’s perspective versus attempting to agree with the experience. --- SEEK EMPOWERMENT VS. FEAR: Because we know our strengths, we can face our fears together and feel empowered to move forward. --- SEEK EXPANSION VS. CONTRACTION: We are more open to co-creating a pathway forward by being creative and collaborative. The SWORD Inclusion system can foster Inclusion on the Slopes. Once we feel equipped to be inclusive and included, we experience the joy of inclusion! Happy Thursday! I hope you are having a meaningful end to your week. Inclusion reminds us of what it means to have meaning. We can only extract meaning when we are willing to see it.  Once we have made some inclusive plans, we witness the meaning associated with these activities. Here is how we extract inclusive meaning. INCLUSIVE ACTION: Take action without judgment. Embark on the journey by taking a step. INCLUSIVE OBSERVATIONS: What did we observe? What happened? What did we witness? Now, share the experience with others.   INCLUSIVE REFLECTIONS: Discuss how it felt. Why? Because the feeling dictates our ability to take more inclusive action. If there is resistance, great! We can channel that energy. Many individuals and organizations are hitting a wall in their inclusive efforts. The SWORD Inclusion System helps us navigate this wall. It’s continuous, making it another adventure. Oh, what fun! Do you have a SUPERPOWER? This week, I had the pleasure of facilitating the Speed Networking Sessions at the Professional Development Days at General Motors alongside my partner in crime, Ashley Randall. The sessions were about meeting new people, with a layer of #inclusion. Around 1500 participants had to connect with someone they had never met and share how their #superpowers helped others or themselves feel included. I decided to be vulnerable and share my little personal way of using mine and how these amazing people at #gm help me do it. Companies are made by people. People make companies. Happy Friday!! I hope you are having a joyful end to your week. I feel fantastic as I look at the little trickle of snow out my window while reflecting on the journey. Thinking about what to do next on the inclusion path can be daunting. I always say to myself what's next?! I use the SWORD Inclusion System to craft what's next. Within the system, we expand our view to narrow our directives. It is a concept of balanced thinking. The figure below displays starting nonlinear in our thinking to explore what could be. We allow ourselves to witness inclusion from a strength-based lens. Then, we look for common themes we share as a collective to leverage. On the path, we focus on our beingness that leads to our doingness. The process centers on crafting a sustainable inclusion system that is authentic to the individual and the organization. We start with the known to give us the strength and courage to go into the unknown to co-create together. In conclusion, we co-create systemic change for we will always need inclusion as new generations bring new perspectives. I find this to be so exciting!
