"BAJA" is a one of the the prestigious event conducted by the Society of Automotive Engineers nationally and Internationally too. This Event mainly focuses on creating a platform to show case the talent of Young Engineering students in developing an off-road vehicle that should be environment friendly and economically made. More over there are certain technical rules and regulations to be followed as per the rule-book provided by SAE-INDIA and students should follow it in order to fabricate a off-road vehicle. This event consist of three stages and they are prelims, Static event and Dynamic Event. Prelims is a part that is conducted to test the technical Knowledge of the students, And the static event is conducted to present the design, cost and sales report to the officials of SAE-INDIA via PowerPoint presentation and finally the Dynamic event is the part where we will have to test the Technical part of the fabricated vehicle. Dynamic event comprises of Technical Inspection, Brake Test, Acceleration Test, and Endurance test. As a team member of the M-BAJA Team of KCT, I would like to share the experience of working in vehicle manufacturing for the "SAE BAJA- 2023". As an Automobile enthusiast, I was interested in joining" The Garage" a forum the provides exposure to practical automobile learning. I joined the team during my second academic year and involved myself in documentation works and manufacturing process. I worked under the guidance of the seniors in the team got to know about how vehicle fabrication is done and how the documentations for the event are done. From the designing to the Testing part of the vehicle will be done by the students including the manufacturing. The process will be guided by team captain and a faculty incharge. I am glad to share that , Our Team has actively participated in 2023 Event and We have Placed 3rd for the static Design Presentation and Overall 3rd place for sales and marketing presentation. #saeindia #sae #sae2023 #saeinternational#saebaja2023

The Hidden Hero of Speed: Zinc in Formula 1 Cars In the world of Formula 1, where every component, every material, and every detail is optimized for maximum performance and speed, zinc emerges as an unsung hero. From the chassis to the tires, zinc plays a critical role in ensuring that these high-performance machines not only go fast but also stay safe and reliable under extreme conditions. Let’s dive into the fascinating journey of zinc in an F1 car, and uncover its vital contributions to the pinnacle of motorsport engineering. 📌The Backbone: Zinc in the Chassis The chassis of a F1 car is a marvel of engineering, combining strength with lightness to handle the immense forces encountered on the track. Zinc comes into play here primarily through its role in galvanization. Galvanized steel, coated with a thin layer of zinc, is used extensively in various structural components. This zinc coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, ensuring that the chassis can withstand the harsh conditions of racing, including exposure to moisture and high temperatures. This reliability is crucial, as even the slightest compromise in the structural integrity can lead to catastrophic failures. 📌The Heart: Zinc in the Engine The engine is where the magic happens – the transformation of fuel into breathtaking speed. Zinc is a key player here as well. Zinc alloys, particularly zinc-aluminum (ZA) alloys, are used in several engine components. These alloys offer a remarkable combination of strength, durability, and resistance to wear and tear, making them ideal for parts that need to withstand high stresses and temperatures. 📌The Connection: Zinc in Fasteners and BearingsFasteners, bearings, and bushings are critical for keeping the entire car together and ensuring everything operates smoothly. Zinc-coated fasteners provide excellent resistance to corrosion, which is essential given the high moisture levels and extreme conditions these cars are exposed to. 📌The Grip: Zinc in Tires Even the tires, the only contact point between the car and the track, benefit from zinc. ZnO is a crucial ingredient in the rubber compounds used to make tires. It acts as a curing agent, helping to control the vulcanization process, which determines the elasticity and durability of the rubber. Beyond the Car: Zinc in Safety and Environment Safety is paramount in Formula 1, and zinc contributes here too. The use of zinc in crash structures and safety cells helps absorb and dissipate energy during impacts, protecting the driver. Whether you’re part of the International Zinc Association a Formula 1 enthusiast, or simply a lover of cutting-edge engineering, the role of #zinc in Formula 1 is a testament to the incredible impact of this versatile metal. Let’s celebrate zinc’s contributions and continue to innovate at the intersection of #science, engineering, and #sport. #Innovation #Motorsport #Engineering #Zinc #Formula1 #MaterialScience #Sustainability #Performance

🏁 Perfect racing requires perfect accuracy! In the world of motorsport, where every detail counts, precision is crucial. Our technica center grinding machines deliver roundness of an incredible 0.0003 mm - that's sub-micron precision! No wonder the leading Formula 1 teams rely on the accuracy of our machines. 🔬 Why is this so important? - A red blood cell is 7-8 micrometers in size - we grind parts with tolerances of less than 1 micrometer. - Even most bacteria are larger than what we can deliver in terms of precision. - This accuracy provides the perfect balance and performance that makes the difference in F1. When it comes to perfection, there is no compromise. Rely on technica technology gmbh for unsurpassed precision! A big step in the world of AM, as the FIA allow printed components for critical suspension applications. The knowledge around the technology has been expanding over the last decade for non critical and static load components, however this is one of the first steps to looking at fatigue loaded applications. It will be interesting to see how this is implemented by the teams in the 2026 season. Could this be the next big stepping stone for AM across all industries?
