2024 WSJ Food Forum is in the books. Leaders from McDonald's, Perdue, USAID spoke, plus Alice Waters talking slow versus fast food. I also got to pick Chipotle founder Steve Ells' big brain about the future of restaurant operations and automation. What stood out to those who attended and watched?

Helping companies tell better brands stories! Retail Strategy Expert, Consumer Insights Obsessed, and fairly confident virtual shopping is the evolution of eCommmerce. Proud WBE & MBE Certified Founder
Ironically, in the same day that I posted a new store concept for #ALDI in Europe, we learn about a small-format Whole Foods concept launching in New York soon. This is unintentionally indicative that growth in the #grocery industry is coming from the #premium and #discounter channels, not mainstream grocery. More so, when looking at the images from both #retailers, there are more similarities then differences in what store experience they are trying to bring to consumers. I'll be tracking both of these closely. #fresh #preparedfoods #customerexperience #localizedassortment #smallformat #urbanretail #WholeFoods #Amazon #amazongrocery

Dear Friend, The question on food systems was asked by a friend of mine Laura De Matteis who is trying to build a practice of food systems. From my reading; 1. Adoption of food systems approaches is more of an adaptive challenge rather than a technical one. 2. Adoption of the approach has clear winners and losers 3. there is a need to have champions of change at all levels. 4. There is a need for coordination to align and get different facets to speak to each other and align to a common vision. Please add to this bullet point.
What are your challenges in adopting the Food Systems Approach? Anna NgwiriCharles WarriaJan Willem Van CasterenAlison HughesBrenda MareriConservation InternationalDr. Jeremiah RogitoGeorge Wamae
