Happy New Year to all my clients and connections! Following a wet and windy festive period, it looks like a case of ‘new year, new weather pattern’, with a much drier, colder period ahead. Long range weather forecasting is still an evolving science, and no wise meteorologist will promise anything beyond a few days. But with a number of global teleconnections and drivers aligning right now in favour of cold weather, confidence is higher than usual that the first few weeks of 2024 could be notably chilly. Contrary to typical media hyperbole, no one can tell you if it’s going to snow in your back yard more than about 24 hours in advance! However I’d say there’s a greater-than-average risk of some quite wintry weather to come for many of us, with associated impacts. If you have plumbed dust/odour suppression systems or other frost-vulnerable equipment on site, it’s well worth being prepared. 😉 #weatheraware #winteriscoming
