It is useful to see this information today, as I had been misinformed that the RSV vaccine for adult category was going to be distributed to those from 65 years and above, I need to take a closer look at the eligibility criteria, as the flu jab and Covid shot are those 65 years and above and those clinically vulnerable, RSV has been placed for older adults at 75 years of age and above. 🚨 Measles Alert 🚨 The US and the UK are facing measles outbreaks. The virus is extremely contagious; on average, an individual with measles can spread the infection to between 12 and 18 others in a fully susceptible population. Unlike COVID-19, those with compromised immune systems cannot be vaccinated. After the COVID-19 pandemic, we are witnessing an overall rise in vaccination hesitancy. A vaccination coverage higher than 95% is essential to maintain herd immunity and avoid outbreaks. The potential for severe complications, particularly among the most vulnerable, underscores the need to reduce vaccine hesitancy.
