Interesting article here on the data-visualisation used during the pandemic, from a UK perspective. A few things struck me. Firstly, our daily briefings in NZ were gloriously home-spun in comparison; our version of "next slide please" was the PM holding up a piece of paper. None the worse for that, as the nation tuned in for the 1pm daily update (which even ended up with it's own IMDB review page - https://lnkd.in/g_mkubd8) Secondly, this comment from the article "as policy-making increasingly uses quantitative data to both understand problems and communicate solutions visualization is likely to remain an essential tool in policymakers’ toolboxes". It gives me hope if policy-making is increasingly using data this way; and also begs the question about how we visualise that data fairly and clearly.
