A reminder of the sacrifices made by both service personnel and their families in service of the nation. Last week the crew of HMS Diamond and 815 Naval Air Squadron last week had an emotional homecoming after 151 days at sea, thousands of miles from home. During that time they performed a vital role guarding against attacks on merchant vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden – through which 11% of global trade passes. Thanks to their sacrifices, our way of life and security is protected.

Very touching. Well done HMS Diamond and 815 Naval Air Squadron - and thanks for keeping the shipping routes safe. I wonder if the RN could also be deployed to counter the people trafficking trade in the English channel - similar to the role they used to perform in Hong Kong up to the handover.

Huge thanks to their families who have the really hard lot!

If they’re so wonderful (and they are), then why don’t we have more of them - personnel, ships, submarines, missiles, tanks, artillery, aircraft, bombers, everything! Come on, Putin’s very close. Buy us some decent sized and equipped armed forces!

Thank you for your service
