Married quarters first in the UK. More of them and modernise the existing. Britain does not have a firmer friend than our own Armed Forces..

Fix a date to reach a MINIMUM of 2.5% GDP investment, and increase that every year. This has to happen to ensure our armed forces are fit for purpose. Our military was once the envy of the world, but no longer. Let’s change that, for the better, so British Citizens are amongst the best protected in the world, by the best equipped and motivated troops in the world!

I'm glad to see this, if gives me hope that this government will follow up on it's defence promises made a couple of weeks before the election. 2 things that concern me however. 1. Will a Minister outside of cabinet have enough power to continue the good work in the Office for Veterans' Affairs? 2. Will the repeal of the Legacy Act open up the floodgates for historic prosecutions once again?

🌍🤝 Supporting Ukraine in its time of need 🇺🇦🤝🌍 I am incredibly heartened by the United Kingdom's unwavering support for Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression. 🤝🇬🇧🇺🇦 In times like these, it is crucial for the international community to stand together and condemn any form of aggression that threatens the sovereignty and territorial integrity of a nation. 🌍💪 Ukraine has shown immense resilience and determination in the face of adversity, and it is heartwarming to see the UK standing shoulder to shoulder with our Ukrainian friends. 🤝💙 By supporting Ukraine, the UK sends a powerful message to the world that it stands firmly for peace, justice, and the protection of democratic values. 🕊️🌟 Let us continue to support Ukraine in its pursuit of peace and stability, and work towards a future where nations can coexist in harmony, free from the fear of aggression. 🌍🤝🇺🇦 #UnitedForUkraine #StrongerTogether #Peace #SupportUkraine

Should be building our own armed forces instead, but if it’s a proxy war then use the time it gives to build up ammo supplies massively and don’t waste the opportunity. No room in the govs finances for any real movement so it’s raise taxes or privitise like Conservatives.

I hope the Defence Review is carried out transparently and not in a smoke filled room behind closed doors. I know there will be horse trading between each service, civil servants and ministers, but leave the arms makers out of it. The biggest failure to all governments is procurement. If I buy business cards I get a price and agree it but do not when they are delivered expect the price to go up. Likewise, when I am selecting a producer I expect a service to provide after sales not at an additional cost. The other biggest issue is pay for servicemen. It is futile giving percentage wage increases, as the officers get more than those at the sharpe end. A 10% increase to £100 is £10 a 10% increase to £1,000 is £100! Also consider this a new nurse gets £22,383 a soldier £18,687. Yes nurses work hard but I say a soldier puts his life on the line daily, has to contend with living in a lot less than normal housing and in difficult environments. Everyone thinks nurses are worth more yet servicemen and women deserve much more

Excellent news, while you have only just begun your role. 1) How are you looking to modernise British forces to enable it to be capable of fighting a war, stated widely it currently is not able to do so 2) What innovative, cost effective equipment will be developed to determine Russia & support Ukraine 3) Are you going to request the defence budget is increased 4) How will you solve the issue over our nuclear missile test failures which show we have no working deterrent
