Great work by Myriam, she highlights what a lot of us know, but that industry leaders rarely acknowledge. The film and TV industry favours those crew who have financial support - with it's freelance model and long periods off work. Without addressing that 'post grad' or 'post school' how do we expect it to change? There is funding for LSA and NFTS, but what happens after that? If streamers, broadcasters or gov are going to support anywhere it should include paid internship and shadowing with regular assessments. If you're a film/tv producer or responsible for trainees on a production, this is a fantastic resource to familiarise yourself with and to share with your trainees. It helps them to understand the various roles on productions and how they relate, and to better prepare themselves to make the most out of the experience. For creative sector professionals it has the added benefit of reminding us what it's like to start out and how we can continue to improve our cultures to be more inclusive and progressive. What got my attention is how might we help our #AdultEducation #providers use this news to insure our #Learners will develop #competitive #WorkforceSkills for these businesses and potential #Apprenticeships. The #HotJobs of today are not inclusive of the hot jobs of tomorrow. Often times, we need to take a chance and lead rather than wait for the orders to follow.
