Globally, the space industry is experiencing unprecedented growth. According to the "Global Space Economy Report," the space economy was valued at approximately $366 billion in 2019 and is projected to reach $1 trillion by 2040, driven by advancements in satellite technology, space exploration, and commercial space travel.
This rapid growth is not confined to traditional spacefaring nations; emerging economies, including those in Africa, are increasingly recognizing the strategic importance of developing indigenous space capabilities. No wonder, the global tertiary education sector is undergoing significant transformations as well, driven by technological advancements, evolving job market demands, and increasing international collaboration.
The rise of online education platforms and digital learning resources is transforming the traditional classroom setting, making education more interactive and accessible.

Exploring #space isn't just about the technicalities; it's also about understanding our place in the cosmos, grappling with ethical dilemmas, and exploring the human experience. The humanities play a crucial role alongside technical studies, shaping our understanding and guiding our exploration. Let's continue to bridge the gap between science and humanity for a richer, more holistic approach to space exploration!
Honorable mentions for: the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the European Union, UNIVERSEH European University, bees in space, space blogs, the lack of direct experience in space for most space researchers leading to abstract thinking and storytelling, paying the externalities now instead of leaving it to future generations, new interdisciplinary masters being prepared. #jointhespacecrew#HumanitiesInSpace#SpaceExploration#LeapIntoSpace 🌌

Secure World Foundation and the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) are partnering to organize the 2024 International Workshop on Space Resources: Perspectives for Future Ecosystems in São José dos Campos, Brazil.
This workshop will be a thematic follow-on to the 2023 International Workshop on Space Resources Perspectives of Emerging Space Programs which was organized by SWF and several Korean research institutes in November 2023. Discussion at this event will focus on regional perspectives on the ways space resource activities will contribute to the future development of the space sector and its benefits.
Latin American Schools: Are you familiar with KSCIA - International Space Academy?
Born in the heart of the American space program, KSCIA is an Educational Research Center pioneering the development of programs focused on Space Education. Co-founded by Mr. Mike Lester, a retired NASA and U.S. Air Force engineer, we have distinguished ourselves by creating educational content in collaboration with scientists and space experts, always attentive to industry demands and the training of future professionals.
Located at the Space Life Science Lab (SLSL) in the Cape Canaveral region, our team of specialists works daily alongside scientists and engineers engaged in real missions aimed at exploring space and advancing humanity toward becoming an interplanetary species.
Over the course of a week, we provide an immersive experience in Space Education. By blending the history of space exploration with hands-on activities, we elevate the pillars of STEAM to a new level. Our students not only learn in the classroom but also closely interact with artifacts and experiences that have marked the history of space exploration, understanding where technology is applied and making the experience comprehensive.
KSCIA is more than a school; we are the world’s first Educational Research Center focused on training young talents in the emerging field of #NewSpace. To achieve this, we have developed our own proprietary content, with an innovative program that connects students worldwide to the scientific and technological realms from an early age.
👨🚀🌱 We combine science, technology, and space education to cultivate curious minds passionate about space, preparing them for the needs of the global market and connecting them with space companies.
What sets us apart? Our partner schools are carefully selected, understanding the profile of each institution, thus building lasting partnerships that have impacted generations over the past 10 years, maintaining a high standard of teaching and participation.
🔜 And we have news: in 2025, we are opening the selection process for two new schools in Latin America to join this select group of partner institutions. If your school is bilingual, interested in offering unique experiences to your students, and wishes to be part of a select group of pioneers, contact us via LinkedIn and discover how we can together inspire and train the next generation of space explorers.
