"In business, networking is everything. The best connections don't have an expiry date: it has happened several times that I have got in touch with someone who I last spoke to 10 or even 20 years ago, and we have been able to pick up where we left off last time.
The decisive thing here is to know who to get in contact with. For our Marquitruck project, I called a few people from my hometown, they told me to call someone in Sweden, from there I was redirected to the UK and I finally spoke to people in Närpes, not so far away from my hometown outside Vasa, and found the answers.
Experienced people – those with some age – know how to fix things. They come with valuable cargo in the form of contacts, knowledge, and memories. Someone you know might very well know someone, who knows someone else, who might know the exact answer to your question.
Yes, maturity and experience are emphasised here. However, ‘the oldies’ need to be combined with younger people's new ideas and fresh know-how of technology."
