🌟 Connecting with Clients: Building Meaningful Relationships 🤝 Clients contract with whom they know and like. If the client doesn’t know you, the likelihood of you getting selected is slim. Here are some strategies to foster meaningful relationships with your clients: 🔵 Hangout Where They Hangout: It’s essential to immerse yourself in your client’s world. Attend industry-specific events, workshops, and meetups. Being present allows you to engage with clients on a personal level. 🔵 Attend Their Presentations: When your clients speak at conferences or give presentations, try to attend. Not only does this show support, but it also provides valuable insights into their expertise and challenges. Plus, it’s an excellent opportunity to connect afterward and discuss their ideas further. 🔵 Public Meetings and Networking: Public meetings, town halls, and community gatherings are goldmines for networking. Clients often participate in these events, and you can engage in casual conversations. Remember, it’s not just about business; ask about their interests, hobbies, and aspirations. These connections are not just transactional; they’re the foundation of successful partnerships. Remember, it’s not about collecting business cards; it’s about building lasting relationships. 🤝

I'm feeling nostalgic for networking events! 🤝 When I first moved to Finland, I was hesitant to attend, but once I started, I discovered a community of like-minded individuals. As a hybrid professional, my job required meeting potential business partners, and events became a highlight. 💼 Making friends, gaining confidence, and staying updated on industry trends and new technologies was invaluable. However, life has gotten busy, and attending events has become challenging. ⏰ With a demanding schedule, kids to care for, and life's responsibilities, I've missed numerous events in the past two months. It's heartbreaking because networking energized me and introduced me to inspiring people. 💔 Seeking advice: How do you balance work, family, and attending events? Share your tips 💡

Have you ever networked alone? 😎 The past month I went to two networking events in one day, And ALONE!!!! I never thought in million years to go to events alone. 😅 😆 It’s a big deal to me because I used to live with my family in Lebanon and been surrounded by people all the time. 👥 And now I am away from what I was used to and try to do things by myself. I don’t think you get it if you don’t come from collectivists countries where members take a decision for the own good of the whole family. 🤔 👨👩👧👦 That change of culture when coming to Finland, it has affected me directly from the first day. Passed through depression, but the big thing that got me out: it is to organize my day and make sure I get out of the house 2 times per day for 1 hour each. 🚴♀️ 🏋♀️ 🗓 To go on a walk or bring groceries were my surviving activities but what if it became a cycle for 3 years? 🔁 In Kuopio, you can’t find networking events like in Helsinki, which made me struggle to know the importance of having a community or even simply talking with people. So now moving to Helsinki, the drive to meet people and to have conversations is way stronger, that I don’t mind to go to networking events by myself. 💪 A TIP 🧠 : if you want to open a clothing brand, you need to go to fashion events. Don’t waste your time and energy to go to events out of your goal. (in the beginning at least)

There’s a chance you’ve seen me at many networking events, and I want to remind you of the importance of networking. It’s not just about building business connections; it’s about creating a diverse and supportive community that enriches both your personal and professional life. Connecting with people outside your usual circles can introduce you to new ideas and perspectives you might not encounter otherwise. Engaging with individuals from different backgrounds and industries can spark innovation and lead to creative solutions. I encourage you to do the same, start building a strong personal network.

Networking around the globe 🌍 - what I learned about professional networking while working with international companies in 7 countries. Networking isn't just exchanging business cards. It's an art, and it varies wildly across the globe. Here's a snapshot of my journey: Germany 🇩🇪, China 🇨🇳, France 🇫🇷, Spain 🇪🇸, Sweden 🇸🇪, United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪 and the UK 🇬🇧. Working for Telefónica and providing Mystery Minds' solutions to international companies have both given me tremendous insights into business networking. Each country had its unique "networking culture" - from British pub meetups to Spanish 2-hour lunch breaks and football match viewings in the office in Argentina. But these aren’t just social gatherings - they are often strategic business events deeply integrated in each culture. In some countries, if you choose not to participate, you could even miss out on big opportunities. My biggest takeaway? Effective networking and building enduring relationships depend on understanding and embracing the diverse cultural norms of your international colleagues. What are your experiences with networking in different countries?

Networking events are truly effective when follow up is made to cultivate those new relationships. To make a mark and open the way for continuous mutually beneficial relationships for collaboration, fellowship, and community. Make your mark. Make your meeting memorable and remembered. And further enter into the relationship by sharing more of who you are. Make it personal add your personal touch. Make sure to let the new partner know you yuare there for them and happy to help. Setting the expectation for each other to collaborate, support, and assist. Everyone is busy. As I’m sure you know from first hand experience. Follow up with your follow up to keep yourself on their mind and in their network. Also, Give them the opportunity to discern and decide they want to engage in this relationship.

I said it in a post before but I feel like we're making networking more formal than it actually is. "Networking" and "leveraging connections" are really just business lingos for "making friends" and "asking friends for favor". Which is why networking don't have to be done by attending formal stuffy events such as trade shows or conferences. If we join a cycling community and meet new people there? That's networking. If we play an online multiplayer and make friends there? That's also networking. In other words, networking can be done by doing the things that we do if we want to make friends, i.e. join a likeminded community.
